The Power of Gratitude.
This is something that has only just hit me as being one of THEE most important concepts to understand. I had been told why it was so important, tried to FEEL gratitude, read it in The Secret, but still really didn't understand its significance. Until today.
I have just come through one of the worst feelings i've ever experienced, due some personal experiences. I literally couldn't eat, sleep or pull myself out of it. I wouldn't wish this feeling of dread on my worst enemy! I felt hopeless, lost and a deep sense of despair. And i'm a positive person!
The one and only thing that pulled me out was to start thinking of what was good in my life, what was I thankful for. Now that's a hard thing to do when you feel low. But i kept at it until i started to feel better, and better and better. Until i realised i have a GREAT life and i should be thankful everyday. I truly believe i went through such a tough time to be taught this lesson. And i am GRATEFUL for that lesson!
I came across a site in my search for gratitude and i read some great stuff which brought me back onto an emotional high and i would encourage everyone to read this if they want to feel good and grateful. It may seem at times that things aren't ok, but that's just our perception. You create EVERYTHING that happens to you. Once you take on that responsibility, you know you can change your life at will.

Re: The Power of Gratitude
Yes... An important reason for having gratitude and being in a state of appreciation as often as possible is that when you are in that state, you are in one of the highest emotional states possible and you're in the state of abundance. So when you're appreciating what you have, instead of complaining about what you don't have... You always get more of what you focus on. Wake up each day and be thankful that the sun is shining, that you have a roof over your head, a bed to sleep in and anything else you can add to that.

Terry,
I'm very aware of how negative vibes can sometimes sweep you suddenly, and how utterly useless you feel.
You're right when you say you do have a great life, and I'd like to add that you're ALREADY very successful!
This community is full of winners, doers, that take action, which is key to success.
I'm grateful to be a part of this community, for everything I've learned here, and for living a fulfilling life.
Wish you, Terry, and all of us, all the success!

I really love this community! What is it about network marketers? We seem to have so much more awareness of what is really creating our lives. I have been involved for 6 months and what i have learn't has outstripped the last 27 years of my life tenfold. Not to mention the personal growth i've had.
This stuff really should be taught in schools. Is the world ready for it? Probably not but i think the world is going through an awakening right now, and we as a community are at the forefront! Thanks so much for sharing guys, i'm really GRATEFUL for your words of wisdom.

Re: The Power of Gratitude
Great post! Terry, you make a good point in saying that when you're low, it's hard to be grateful. It's easy when you're in a good mood, but when times are tough, that's when we need gratitude the most. Every experience we have is here to teach us something, and if in those rough moments, we can open ourselves up, and appreciate what's right there, the peace and joy can start to come through. I have been really focusing on being grateful every single day, and I find I'm so much more joyful, no matter what's happening in my life.
Thanks Terry! I'm grateful to be meeting so many like-minded people here!

Hi Terry,
Thanks for sharing your experience and reminding us of things we should be thankful for.
I am glad you managed to overcome the negative feelings and always remember the next time you are down, that you have already been there, it will give you courage knowing you have done it before and that you can do it again!
Good luck
