Ok, I may get flamed for saying this, but does this sound legit to all of you? If this guy has a team of thousands, is this really the best way to research new weight loss companies? The promise of bringing a team of thousands obviously got people's attention, but something just doesn't feel right to me in the initial statement. Perhaps it is because this is also the first post by this user.

This comes across to me as an insidious way to get people's contact information, when they respond to the email address, and that there is, in fact, a new weight loss opportunity that all respondant's will find out about very soon:

"Thanks for letting me know about your product. I seriously considered it, but decided to go with 'Lose-A-Ton' instead, and here's why...(paragraphs later)...if you'd like to be one of the first to take advantage of this pre-launch offer...blah, blah, blah"

I could be wrong, and I apologize if I am, but this just doesn't smell right to me. At the very least, I think the poster should be aware of the way his message is perceived, at least by some.

that's why I just took Dan Kennedy's advice and did the opposite of what everyone else did. :)

Fun!

That's what I picked up on as well... which is why I asked questions. Questions help make things clear. That's the 'listening' part of this equation that's important in all correspondence.

This thread can be a VERY good lesson for those who may 'get excited' and begin pitching their deal to anyone who comes along with a story.

I never assume the worst or the best with this kind of thing. I just ask some stuff first. But I like that Lane and Ferny decided to bring this up openly as a teaching point regardless of the real intentions behind the post.

Good stuff!

I think Lane and I have a paranormal connection since we don't know each other but were thinking the same way. This is the same pitch I even get over the phone from some people that get my information either thru BN or my websites. Most are very tempting and make you believe that they are easy leads that will join you in a snap. In fact they sound like very honest people who are looking for an opportunity.

A top earner with such a downline must be tormented by thousands of pitches day and night. Actually most top earners have the power to capitalize in their business and get the best deals and offer delivered to their homes. I apologize if this is not the case, this could be an exception but past experiences make a good hunter!

All Good observations...which is why I decided to talk to Eric in private only. No need to answer a loaded question like that on a forum. It appeared to me that he wanted to make some connections and that's what we did. Beyond that, I'm not that concerned whether he will be interested in my business or if in reality he is going to pitch his business to me. The important piece again, is making a connection. Developing a relationship. Seeing if we have things to offer each other..even if it's just in the way of support or information. I see no problem is sharing who I am and if appropriate (ie: if someone asks), what it is that I'm involved in. To some it might feel like taking a risk of getting spammed and that is understandable. For myself, I'm secure enough and knowledgeable enough to deal with that risk.

Hi Lane,

It's interesting that Ferny was the only one who went against the flow until your post and then the others explained or justified the way they posted.

Warmly,

I was always told not to judge anyone, the ones you think will, won't and visa-versa. It didn't pass the smell test to me either but sometimes I don't pass either, thus the private message response. Personally, if he responds back we'll talk, if not that's OK too. Every day I learn a lot and try not to outsmart myself by thinking I've got a handle on everything and every opportunity out there. I hope that everyone has a Blessed Holiday season, and be safe. I just lost my Father-in-Law on Tuesday and there again I had to re focus on what is important. Family first and foremost. Tell someone you love them. even if you don't like them in the moment because that will pass.

For those of you that are curious about what I'm doing, go to: www.makeincomenow.com Like it or notm it's growing, it pays extremely well, and you can't do it from the couch. (I've tried  )

Great advice there Ray.

At the end of the day, it's all about the relationships and friendships.
