Every serious marketer really should have
their own squeeze page/blog with you as
the leading man/woman.
I havn't changed my links in twitter yet
as I'm still working on my blog and squeeze
page. Learning how to set up a wordpress
blog is a bit of a challenge.
by the way, if anybody know of a good,
fairly priced wordpress designer, shoot
me a pm for his contact details.
I'm not looking for anything flashy, just
something nice, simple, and with enough
room for me to expand my blog as I see fit.
Cheers

It's really easy to get in the pattern of thinking that any interaction with anybody at any time calls for the introduction of your opportunity.
It's OK to have in the back of your mind the thought of the possibility of getting someone you just met involved in your business, but you don't have to be psycho, ha ha.

Re: Twitter is a BIG mistake for MLMers
Hi Colin,
Great tip, but I just can't believe we still need to be reminded of this. It's all over the place. Geez, I guess some people just don't get it. Although guilty myself in the past, I just don't want to go about it in that way any longer. Not only does it not work, it just irritates everyone. I certainly don't want to be thought of as a spammer, biz opp pusher, typical MLMer, or sleazy sales person. YUCK!!!
When, as mentioned so many times, you give value without wanting anything in return, you come across to other people as honest, caring, professional, etc. The other leaves a bad taste in people's mouth and will cause them to delete you. It's that simple.
Give without want and people will flock to you. Spam and they will delete you.
Thanks for the reminder.
Now I'm going to go look you up on Twitter.

Re: Twitter is a BIG mistake for MLMers
How's everybody feeling? Well I hope!
I'm glad you find the post helpful and I appreciate all of you taking the time to comment.
A lot of us do "know better" than to lead with our opportunity, but it's still easy to forget. Especially when we move into yet another social medium.
We all get sidetracked sometimes, not really focusing on the most important activities in our business. I've fallen victim to that plenty of times in the past. I'm not all the way out of the woods yet, but through trial and error I've made some pretty simple adjustments that help me a lot...
Have a plan and know what tools(in this case social mediums) are best suited to help you meet those goals. ie If you have a plan to generate a certain amount of leads w/ social media, know where your time and activity will be best leveraged.
You can check forums, blogs and even speak with people in your industry that are using certain sites and see if they align with your goals prior to actually signing up. Don't kill yourself, but do a little research. This can save you a lot of time and energy. It also cuts down on the chance of you getting sucked into something that doesn't serve your immediate purpose.
Think of it this way. Know your purpose before you purchase. Thankfully most social mediums are free to use, but for business owners that's actually a huge misconception. You may not be paying in dollars to use them right up front, but you are paying in time spent. In regards to lack of productivity that's a huge expense.
Once again make sure you have a specific plan in place prior to using social media or I promise you will regret it in the long run. Another reason you need a plan is because you can measure your progress. This prevents you from having a lack mentality.
Without a plan, when you look up and realize you've spent an embarassing amount of time on xyz social site without seeing results, you can become desperate. Desperation always leads to mistakes. Leading with your opp, spamming, etc. The problem is that with social media like Twitter especially, your mistakes will be magnified ten fold. Nobody wants to be branded negatively.
Keep this in mind and you'll be much better off I promise.
Thank you guys for following me on Twitter. I look forward to seeing what you're up to as well.
Almost forgot. If you're following me on Twitter already you may have this. If not, here's a link to an amazing article.

Re: Twitter is a BIG mistake for MLMers
thanks man you totally said it!
and i am so sick of that twitter bot (i forget its name) that just adds people to increase followership. And it sends welcome messages that go like "GO see my blog at http://www.ISuck.com).
It doesn't matter how many people YOU follow...it's about how many wanna follow you. There's a difference! I used to follow anyone who followed me but i'm just subjecting myself to so much spam this way. So i stopped. In fact, I'm actually considering taking some of the people i follow off my twitterr because they fill my page with spam and make me miss messages from people i DO care about following!
keep preaching the good stuff buddy.
