I just got back from my post deployment vacation, and it was very much needed. I was just trying to see who in the BN community truly takes vacations. And if you do, are they "business vacations" or true no holds bar vacations with friends or family. Please let me know.

I take about 4 "Leave me the F alone" vacation a year. No work, cell phone off, soak in the hot tub, read, knock down some beers, go to the club type vacation.

You gotta get away from the rat race and "business vacations" are not vacations.

Vacations :D Oh yea.... I love them. Just planned a couple for this upcoming June and July! Going to be away for 4 weeks  I try to get a good one like that once a year, but at the very least once every other year. But, I must admit, I do take my laptop with me and get a little work in at times ;)

Dave,

I agree that the mini vacations idea is key. I also find that when I am in a relaxing, vacation environment...I am able to catch up on my personal development reading. Those times are when my brain is spinning the most. I often have a notepad at my side, and I jot down some ideas very quickly before I forget them. Vacations are absolutely necessary in my book!

I love the part about "total separation" with leaving cell phones and everything at home. That is a key part, but I don't discredit taking a book or two to read with you. That is when I get some of my best ideas cooking. Thanks for the input!

Hey Cynthia,

I think that a person needs to take AT LEAST two vacations a year. If they don't, they tend to get burnt out. That is what I tend to see. Thanks for the addition to the conversation.

On my side here in Asia, I do take vacations together with my family. That's part of my weekly routine because I see its a need especially if you are in this industry. You have to take a break to refresh yourself from toxics and stress :) I also lived just 30 minutes away from beach (search: pearl farm beach resort)

Hey Sonny,

I live only 5 minutes from the beach. It's pretty darn nice isn't it? We are lucky to be able to have a "vacation spot" right in our back door. Take care!

hey Timothy,
you do ask a great question because there is a misconception of the online world by newbies as being workaholics. I do say that I highly disagree because the reality is that your online business should infact give you more time and financial freedom. So that you can actually spend time with the family and do what you love doing best!

Especially when I am on vacation or going out with family/friends I make them my priority and enjoy the time. It is very important to focus on ONE thing when doing it. Just like you should concentrate on your online business when working on it, when you're with loved ones enjoy the time with them.

All the best and to our success :)
