Hey Verniel,
That is GREAT Advice thanks. I am putting the finishing touches on a free report that I will be getting into the marketplace pretty soon.
I believe understanding ms is not hard to do because Mike did such a great job on it BUT what is hard to do is to really understand yourself and what valuable content you could distruibute before you have any success. That is why it seems to be the best method to lead with some type of affiliate product as ms so hopefully you could earn some money, build confidence figure out what works and what doesnt so that when you are speaking with people or creating content it is from the heart.
Enjoy and Prosper,

Re: What Were Your First Steps After Magnetic Sponsoring?
Just to cover all the steps by order, after joining the Magnetic Sponsoring club... please correct me if I'm wrong. Everything is overwhelming to me at this point ...I have 2 jobs that keep me busy with barely any days off, I have personal issues that I've been dealing with that'll most likely linger on for a long whiel fro now (flooded home & fighting officials, etc), and the fact that I'm a total newbie to website-building & online marketing... so time is a real issue for me, but now that I'm in on it, I need to get things rolling to achieve those goals!
I do understand the methods taught in MS that I have read so far (about "branding myself" and the whole nine yards). And I know there are guides and steps to follow in the MS Office account as to where and how to start... but I think I need more direction towards the best way to Start-Up and reaching that level in which so many are achieving with such little confusion.
Is this how it works?:
1) MS provides me URL links to their MS product capture pages (Mike Dillard Boot camp videos, etc)... so my first step is to advertise and bring people to these links such as http://name.magneticsponsoringonline.com by means of using Email Signatures, personal email recommendations, short ads, etc?
2) I then create my own capture pages... now, advertising what exactly? Do I create my own separate "main Capture page" branding myself with opt-in fields (eg. Name / Email) to gain contacts... then auto-send daily emails to those contacts advertising what MS is teaching us & then link them directly to the provided MS pages (see above, in Step 1) that feature Mike Dillard's video presentations?? Basically my objective is to re-apply and spread the message of what we're learned from MS (in my own format and words of course)?? I'm just not sure how I can "brand myself" though, if I direct my prospects to Mike Dillard's capture pages, where my "brand" pretty much disappears...
3) And/or do I start creating my own capture pages advertising the products & opportunities of my current MLM company that I'm involved with? For example, if they're Health Products - then I create a capture page listing Health benefits, etc... and then link them to my company's website/online-store, etc? So this as a SIDE business away from the MS-related links?
I guess what I'm really trying to get at is - what the 1st goal is people are doing here: Teach & Train other MLM'ers the "Magnetic Sponsoring" way but in our own brand as a Leader (or as a "MS Distributor") - and still link them to my provided MS links to promote their products?
Or should we just simply start using MS strategies to apply to our own MLM business at companies we're involved with?
I know opportunities are infinite - yet I don't want to be sitting here all flustered not knowing where to being either, so I want to take everything 1 step at a time.
And... how do we do this copyright thing everyone's talking about?
Thanks again folks. Perhaps I need a brain flush!

Re: What Were Your First Steps After Magnetic Sponsoring?
Anthony,
Exactly what I did and you can do is this.....
You should learn to make your own capture pages...I know its painful in the beginning, but its a skill you must learn in order to flourish marketing anything online.
Now what can you make as your "bait" for lead generation? At least in the beginning, when you are just trying to get started?
Speak from your own personal experience and write a simple pdf to email to people.
Once you have read magnetic, you probably have a good idea what DIDN'T work for you.
Simply use your own experience as your bait:
"The Three Biggest Mistakes Anyone Could Make In MLM And How To Avoid Them"
or something similar.
Then.... simply include a link in your pdf to something that helped YOU out and what can help them out.
"Hey I read this book called Magnetic Sponsoring, it has really good information about how to really market your MLM business. It's really good and I highly recommend it"
or something similar about your business opportunity.
Before you start learning copywriting, attraction marketing and everything else (and yes, it can be a headache, even after you've been at it for years), just be genuine and think of how you can help people out FIRST.
Give 'em something that can help them.
The rest will come.
Good luck my man.

Re: What Were Your First Steps After Magnetic Sponsoring?
Thanks Kurt! Very helpful indeed.
Great suggestion with the PDF... I was thinking more in lines of follow-up email initially. But then again that would need an autoresponder of some sort eh. With my own words of pointers, etc... and then referring to MS or something with the provided links.
But for this, even a basic starter's capture page of my own to promote MS... don't I still need copyrighting for this as well?

Re: What Were Your First Steps After Magnetic Sponsoring?
You will need to learn copywriting for that, at a very basic level to get started.
Copywriting, no joke is a lifelong learning skill like golf. You never "learn" it, but continue to improve your game.
Honestly it's the best thing you can ever learn if you want to learn how to sell "stuff" online or offline.
The best advice I ever heard about what to have on a page actually came from a guy Dan Kennedy, he wasn't actually talking about landing pages, as he mostly an offline print copywriter, but for your headline do a quick exercise like this:
Once you know WHO your target market is (which is another exercise in itself), answer these questions:
- What keeps them awake at night?
- What are they afraid of?
- What are they angry at, who are they angry at?
- What do they secretly desire?
With that in mind, here is an example.
Let's say you have something, a product that cures joint pain (maybe a juice or something like that)
You are going to target people who are looking to get rid of their joint pain.
A sample headline might be: "Who else wants to learn 3 simple ways to get rid of joint pain that your chiropractor is hiding from you?" Just a quick draft for the copy there, but you get the point.
Or, if they secretly desire just to be able to walk without pain and be active again, " Who Wants To Learn 3 Secrets To Ditching The Painful Moments And Get Back To Playing Golf In 24 Hours Or Less?"
Something like that
Now, include some benefit bullets of what they will learn in your free report.
Include a call to action, telling them exactly what they have to do to get the free report.
That will get you going.

One of the first things I did and I would strongly suggest you do, is pick up the course,Buildingonabudget.
It will show you how to pratically implement the academia that you have registered from Magnetic Sponsor.
Things like getting ads on Craig list, starting a blog, article writing, and securing leads via a funded proposal.

Re: What Were Your First Steps After Magnetic Sponsoring?
Great question Najja
When I finished reading MS, I ran back to my room (I was sitting by the pool in a hotel) and grabbed my highlighter and re-read MS! Then I sat there dumbfounded and wondered how I was ever going to set this up. Knew I had to but didn't know where to begin.
I know there are a ton of people that close the back cover on their copy of MS with a smile and excitement in their bellies and then realize they have no idea how to get started!
Personal branding is easier now than it has ever been with web 2.0 sites and their willingness to publish your content for free. Still how do you get started?
~Get a Nerve Center
~Learn to use your Nerve Center
~Personalize it so it includes info about you and what you offer in the About Me Pages, etc.
~Figure out what you want to say to your target audience and what they want and need to hear
~Build a sales funnel with autoresponders, affiliate commissions, funded proposal, your primary business (always think about giving away helpful info first)
~Learn some copywriting basics
~Start adding content to your NC and to web 2.0 submission sites (article, video, social networking, social bookmarking, etc.) putting out helpful content for others to find. Branding you as a person who wants to help others succeed and sending back links to your NC.
~Learn one other marketing technique (factor in your budget and your schedule)
~Get good at that one technique before moving on to another
~Start to put people into your sales funnel, money in your pocket and new distributors in your business.
When you have that in place, you will be further ahead then most of the marketers out there. I know it sounds like a lot of work, especially to a newbie, but there are inexpensive programs available that help you get this set up (even if it is your first day in MLM). And it will only cost you about $30 a month to maintain. Peanuts!
As for showing proof when you are new, I did a post awhile back on people that try to lie their way to the top of their MLM and how to give results honestly the first day in the business.

Again, great thread and really helpful info for marketers, old and new! Well done BN community!
Cheers!

Re: What Were Your First Steps After Magnetic Sponsoring?
The best move is to write an article about what you have learned and submit it to article directories. If you just knew one thing than your prospect, then you are already valuable to him/her. No need to learn more things at the same time. Just take it one step at a time. Learn then apply. Remember that the 2 things that you need to become successful in this industry is to become a leader by increasing your value to others and you do that by education yourself. The second one is to express your value through marketing. Thats it. So when you learn something knew, you gain knowledge, you express that value thru marketing. By either writing an article, blogging, etc.....There are lots of ways to market online but don't spread yourself too much. Focus on just 2-3 methods and go from there. And stick with your target market. And remember these 3 things (this is how the top internet marketers produce 6 figures online): Build your list, build relationship with your list by continuously sending them valuable content thats related to their needs and monetize your list. So hope this helps in some way or another. Have a great day.

Re: What Were Your First Steps After Magnetic Sponsoring?
Actually the first step after getting Black Belt Marketing, and being invited to BNW was attracting Mentoring for Free into my business plan. I learned what works and doesn't work, and the how too's of any kind of Internet Marketing strategy I wanted to pursue. I teamed up with an awesome bunch of like minded people, who give anyone the same start as I had. I knew little to nothing about attraction marketing, and building a business online. Since that great moment in my MLM career, the turning point, I've been blessed many times over with incredible friends and relationships, a mastermind and team, and found a 5 Pillar company to build my legacy with. Thats it in a nutshell, and I owe it all to Mike Dillard and friends for giving me the key to the treasure room!
