Where can I get Terms and Disclaimer for my website?

Postby Tony C on Tue Nov 10, 2009 11:49 pm

Hi everyone!

Tony C here....

I am building a new website and I'd like some advise on where to get the TERMS, DISCLAIMER and PRIVACY sections built?

What are the sections that I really need to have?

Are there any good legal advisor sites where you can get them to write that kind of info for you?

Or is it ok to copy paste it from another site and just configure it a little?

Comments will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Tony

After you get your disclaimer form done, hop over and pick up our AWESOME and well worth services in having our attorney's review it as a part of your $35 or less monthly membership. No contract for our membership but we hope after using it, you will see a huge value in it, especially for small businesses and guidance in tax benefits and legal docs. Then you can use our attorney to ask all of those unlimited questions! I just love my attorney and the fee never goes up!

Tony,

There are two things I tell everyone to never skimp on. One is legal and the other is accounting.

For your legal terms disclaimer etc. I would suggest using an attorney who specializes in internet law.

Bob Silber is a good resource.

Although using a free service to get your terms and everything may sound good on the surface you may want to rethink that approach.

Depending on the nature of the website you may need special provisions that will help ease legal liability.

So I always suggest using an attorney for this type of things. OR at least have an attorney review the terms after you get them in place.

I have our attorney review our terms every 6 months after we have some changes.

Another point is to make sure that you document any changes you make to any of the legal docs after you make them with a time stamp. This way if someone ever comes for you that you have proof of any changes.

You may also want to include in your terms a provision that states that you have the right to change at anytime and that the person agrees to check the terms often for changes.

Hope this helps.

Hi justin,

It's good to hear from you, how have you been?

Thanks a lot for the advise, I truly appreciate it.

I will be contacting an attorney for the reviewing process.

Take care and thanks once again.
