I agree! actually I don't agree! Mmmmm yes, its really important to make sure we are following those words with why we agree or don't agree. Don't be afraid to shake things up, and thanks Contempo! I appreciate someone being real.

...Plus, I'll often read a post and think, "Yeah, that makes sense." I may not write a reply, and instead defer out of ignorance.
Newer members need to be coached about the possibilities. Deep down we all have stories to tell. While we can crib from our sponsors for a bit, eventually we can find our own voice. Sometimes it just takes a little prodding.
I do agree, Lynda, that everyone should feel comfortable expressing a viewpoint, even if it's not based on much experience. (I hope I'm hitting your point.) Again, I think it comes with experience.
You've got us chatting, Lynda. Good for you![/quote]
Hey Tom some very thought out comments here. I do believe that everyone has their own unique story, and you have probably lived with your so long that you don't know that it would really help someone else. You come from a very unique perspective all your own! There is no right or wrong with your perspective, it just is.
By copy-catting I mean, trying to change into someone else thinking that will create your success. I have seen people do that, and it just creates this inner confusion because your gut says this doesn't feel right. What you do want to copy is a pattern of behavior that has proven to create success, but do it in your own unique personality. Don't stop being Tom, because that is who you always want to be!

Yes, we are in the business of duplication, but the copycating needs to happen in 'principle' and not verbatim.
Successful networkers are those who follow the path of the successful, but what makes each one stand out is their ability to display their uniqueness in approach.
Cheers

you hit on something here Siddarth that I didn't quite figure out how to bring out its using the principle or technique with your own flavor, yes, and thanks!

Great thought provoking discussion Lynda! I'm commenting here not just to agree, but because this resonates with me having witnessed so many people including myself, struggle to learn attraction marketing, utilize duplicatable systems, and still reatain some individuality.
And I do see some people lose themselves in the process, however often I think it's only temporarily.
But more importantly, it is a process of learning; I think we learn about ourselves while we define our own unique approach and develop our brand online, and learn marketing skills along with the essential core skills. And one tends to form more of their own opinions after they've had a chance to become familiar with the territory. It's easy just to agree, especially at the onset.
Duplication is an absolute necessity in network marketing, yet only the framework of attraction marketing can be duplicated, as it is with the systems we're familiar with. But the marketing and delivery still has to be ones own in order to stand apart from the rest. Everyone has their own unique skill set and perspective to apply, which will resonate with some where others could not. (Remember that one math teacher who finally enabled you to finally 'get it'?)
