'Sup guys

I have been wondering… Why did you choose internet business/home based business?

I know this is mainly an mlm forum – and taking your mlm online was the next logical step – but are there any other reasons?

It would be really interesting to hear, and a good thread for market research type purposes.

Some possible reasons I can think of:

You have a passion that you wanted to cash flow – online gives you a bigger market.
You love writing, and self publishing online is quicker.
You are techy apt, into computer stuff.
You are very creative and going online gives you an audience.
You are very creative and love the design process – making websites, graphic design etc.
You maybe lack in confidence around people/are shy.
You didn't really now anything about computers/online world but saw the opportunities.
You don't like your job/having a boss.
You like the freedom – could be creative freedom, time freedom, flexibility freedom, opportunity for financial freedom etc
You are interested in the quickest ways to make money.
You want to leverage your time/income.
You love learning new things.

Mine would be for the creative freedom , and that ability to cash flow a passion. I also wanted a business that I could work anywhere in the world (internet connection permitting) so I had the freedom to travel. I have a bit of a rebellious streak, and being stuck in a job wasn’t for me, I didn't want to be tied down. Also coming online gave me the opportunity to learn so much, and constantly keep learning.

So how about you??

For me I had tried network marketing in the early 90s... before the world wide web really began to take over... The MLM companies at the time weren't doing anything online. You still signed up people using paper applications and mailed or faxed them into the company!

I was a techy. I actually setup a couple of internet service providers. I ran web sites and computer servers for my job.

When I got tired of getting laid off during the dot.com bubble bursting... I got laid off like 3 times. I decided I needed something else that was more stable. I took a second look at network marketing because I remember those small checks I had made in the 90s. I knew if I could use some of my internet skills I could make some real money. When I discovered the previous company I was with had gone internet and had web sites and stuff available I was in

BTW Even though I am a techy guy and I mostly build on the internet I also decided to learn some of the traditional offline networking. I went out and joined a BNI (Business Networking International) chapter and started meeting people for face to face networking.

Welcome to the forums Chloe.
I'm super excited to be working on the internet because, like you, I can share my passion and knowledge with a much much wider group of people than if I was only working offline.
Also, obviously, your income increases literally whenever you want it to increase. I can double my income with just a couple of hours of work inside my own home. It's just awesome.

it offers time and financial freedom. Almost anyone can make it succeed. I knew there was a faster way to make money than work many jobs and trade your time for money. It has been proven to be a fast method to make money pretty quickly without much risk! That's my reasons

Hey Chloe!
Great question, that will offer you many different answers.
For me it was three things:
1. I believed I could make it happen on the internet with the right training and guidance (and I was right )
2. The internet is just huge - you don't get any better leverage than that, and leverage is of the essence for ambitious entrepreneurs.
3. Most people can make it happen (freedom, lifestyle - the whole nine yards) even on a tight budget (or free..) - and that I needed when I first started, deeply in debt. So anybody with strong enough reasons and big enough dreams can be successful online!

Why not leverage the largest tool ever created?

I think of the internet in that way though.... as a tool.

The freedom of location it can provide for any business is pretty amazing and the possibility of reaching exponentially larger groups of people....

Why a internet business, because it gives you the freedom to work when and where ever you what . With the right marketing tools your web-site can generate unlimited amounts of money. So it's a win win situation!

Turning to the Internet is probably the smartest decision anyone could make. I <3 the internet & combining cashflow with internet is just toxic!

* I hate people bossing me around so being my own boss was the next logical step
* The mobile lifestyle
* Following your passions in life AND making lots of money easily
* Having HUGE options and a big variety to choose from (the internet is SO abundant!)

All in all the internet gives us the option of living something that a short time ago people couldn't even dream of...
