If you are serious about building residual income online be it in direct sales, Affiliate Marketing, Internet Marketing or MLM, you need your own self hosted website. I see many people today trying to brand themselves with a replicated company website

A personal website brands you as an expert and gives you respect and admiration in the eyes of a potential prospect or partner.

I see many people call an affiliate website, a companies replicated website, a capture page or worst of all a blogger website their website.

While these are all website they are not yours and can never be yours. Your own personal website can make you a living for years and years to come. long after an affiliate product or even a company dies off.

Plus all the aforementioned websites DO NOT rank in search engines, but search engines like GOOGLE, YAHOO, and BING love self hosted websites and ranks them well because they are own by individuals and entrepreneurs who write relevant contents that benefits the lives of people intimately.

So just thought i throw that out there guys.

Good solid advice to throw out there ! It's similar to setting up your business on the street corner and you are at the mercy of the weather, which can shut you down relatively quickly.

You are right Joyce. And i think this is major problem in this industry as people fail to realize that a website that is filled with a lot of value and good contents can be worth thousands of dollars in the future and is a never ending source of high targeted leads. Quite unfortunate i ask people for their website and the show me a companies replicated site or a blogspot.com website... the problem is this doesn't rank in search engines well and doesn't give any branding whatsoever which is critical for building a successful organization. And what happens when blogspot decides to shut down their site, all their efforts is shut down and income too

A replicated company web site doesn't sell at all. Your company can't give your leads any value. You have to provide it yourself for your leads. You really need you own web site. This is the best way to brand yourself.

True Hugo. A company's website brands the company and not the individual. An individual entering the Network Marketing world needs to understand that people join people and not a company and the best way to get people to know, like and trust you enough to join your business is by offering value to your readers, visitors and leads.

You Brand Yourself...(VERY IMPORTANT) as you stated...
You can advertise on GOOGLE PPC
You can monetize the traffic (who doesn't love 3 to 5K a month on autopilot ?)
You have full control, plugins, add on, forums to create conversation
simplified url with no domain forwards: GOOGLE WILL NOT RANK A FORWARDED DOMAIN HIGH IN THE SEARCH

You nailed it to the head my man. More people need to understand all we just said and cut themselves among the 97% that struggle with replicated sites. But well people will still ignore advice and keep doing the same thing over and over again expecting different outcomes.

More people need to get in the game, forget all they think they know and start looking at their results for a second
