Please Rate My Nerve Center

Postby Nathan Isaac on Wed Jun 09, 2010 6:17 pm

Hello Everyone!

I have been following the MLM Traffic Formula Course for a few weeks now and I have absolutely loved it! I have put together my Nerve center and I would like some constructive criticism on it. If you could so kindly let me know what you think. That would be great. I love this stuff!

I am in the middle of replacing the "FreshLife" logo. Thank you.

Thanks Everyone!

.

Not bad Nathan ... did you do it yourself?
As you start blogging more you'll get into your rhythm and begin to develop a style.
Once you have that and begin to develop it your site will change.
So run with what you have right now ... its a great start for sure.

Here's a few basic suggestions:

1. Delete the "hello world" post.

2. If you're going to have an optin form, tell people a little bit about what they get when they join your list. "FollowSuccess Newsletter" really doesn't mean anything and new people especially are more than likely going to pass over it if you don't TELL THEM what you want them to do and why.

3. Get a picture of yourself in there some where. people tend to distrust faceless blogs.
It's a signature hallmark of spammers. While your at it get an "about" page up and tell us your story. Again this adds a personal touch. People love to hear someone else's story. They want to know if you have something in common with them? Is there common ground you can connect on? It's a crucial step in building rapport with your audience ... transparency.

4. Ditch the theme's default logo graphic and tagline.
This is where you want to focus on YOUR BRAND. "FreshLife - just another clean Wordpress theme" doesn't brand you in any way shape or form. In fact it's going to hurt you because it looks like you didn't even put the time in to put "your own" logo up ... so why should I listen to you OR trust you?

{If nothing else put your name as the headline for starters until you craft something better.}

5. META tags ... get these 2 critical elements in order.
<title>Home</title>
<meta name="description" content="A quick look at what you can find inside my blog." />

Change the title tag to a catchy headline, or better yet something that contains some of your most valuable target keywords and expresses a captivating message {think: headline} to your potential visitors.

Next get that description filled out with an extended version of your captivating headline. This is going to show up in the search engines and is one of the first things potential visitors will judge your site on and whether they want to click your link or not.

That oughtta keep you busy for now.
Hit me up when you're done and I'll be happy to look at it.

~Richard

Yep, Richard has pretty much got it covered, I think.

It is certainly a great start!

From my side...I would have liked you to tell me as a reader, how often you will be sending me your newsletter - weekly, monthly etc

I would also find a way to add a graphic into the opt-in box for the newsletter - perhaps some sort of eBook like looking cover for the newsletter, if you get what I mean.

I concur with Richard - an "About Me" page is of paramount importance - you can include a picture or two of yourself in that page - a head/shoulder shot & perhaps one (or two) of you relaxing or doing what you like most, family pic's are always a winner.

Your blog/nerve center is going to really turn out well. Good luck with it!

Thanks for the great feedback!

It's very much appreciated. I have been pluggging away at so much lately. Especially this past weekend. Every chance I get I am trying to improve it. You have given me a great list of things to work on and I most definitley will. Thanks again and I will be back when I a done.

Where do I get those ebook pics for my optin box?

Congrats on getting your content out there!

As Richard said earlier - focus on developing your brand, and try to think through what's unique about yourself that will appeal to a certain type of person...and then begin to brand yourself, your writing style & your web design around that.

Cheers,

Dez.

You've definitely got the bones of your Blog/Nerve Centre, but there are still more things that need to be done. I agree with all the comments that have been posted thus far.

For me the big thing that is missing in the opt-in box. You have a box, which is a good start, but there's no incentive to opt-in. If you don't give people reason to opt-in they will never do it.

Keep on truckin', it will be worth it for sure,
