Hi,

My name is Calum and i have a problem with creating leads. Although i am doing well for a newbie i want to improve. I can create the traffic but my ratio from visitor to lead is 2.95%. i am only a week into it but i really want to make this work and get those valuable visitors. So far my marketing strategy's are:

Google Groups (with 7 groups)
Forums
Virusurl
Traffic Swarm and 3 other site's like it
and Classified ads

It's all very slow. Does it take time for everything to build up? Anymore ideas on trafficing? I have used my budget so can't really afford anything until i start making some money.

Any help would be great!

Calum, it definetly takes time to build and whichever marketing techniques you are using; you have test it and tweak it. However, you are in the right place for learning. There are some true experts here.

Hi Calum

Do you have an individual web site? I'd be curious to see what it looks like. I'm struggling with pulling leads myself but I have not done any hard core advertising yet. Call it chicken I guess. But our web site gets over 100 visitors a month so I'm confident that it's just a matter of time. I hope to get over 100 visitors a day in the very near future.

A week is nothing in this business. Just make sure you track your results so you know what is or isn't working.

its great that you're keeping a positive attitude. Never give up, keep trying until you get it right.

What I understand, that works well in traffic exchanges, are straight to the point,
eye catching splash pages.

You can google search for splash page makers/generators.

Calum,

I use Twitter and facebook to generate a ton of leads. On facebook I create a group, link it to my website, (which is also the name of the group) and invite people (friends to join).

Content marketing is a great free strategy too. Making videos, writing articles. It's all about giving value and it does not happen over night.

The best free strategies, without a full-site of your own for search engine optimization purposes are content creation.

Writing articles and submitting them to article directories, videos to video hosting sites (youtube, etc).....even audio podcasts to podcasting directories.

Its best to tie all of these together with a blog of your own, where you post your own content to first....then submit it to directories and link it to a blogpost or page on your website.

I know that is a very general overview, but content creation works great.

I totally agree with cds..I too am having some problems with even getting visitors but I press forward chin up smile on my face. Knowing that Traffic and leads will come along. You might want to check out other sites such as FB, and Twitter as well can be a good help.

Put a sign-up form on your blog. Once you start getting blog traffic to it, you'll give people the opportunity to sign-up for more information from you.

Here is a big one...one your blog, think of keywords you would like to rank in search engines for. Use those in the title line of your blog and center your blog post around that theme. That will eventually help get search engine traffic once the engines spider your blog.
