I'm about a quarter through the course and I'm really enjoying to learn all this new stuff, I'm a year and a half in network marketing, in Nu Skin, I'm doing great there, making good money the good old-fashioned way, but I want to take my business to the next level so I'm learning online marketing.
my question is:
The whole course you have been talking about building a opportunity based site, talking about different aspects of MLM, we have a new product in Nu Skin, a pill that helps your mental acuity, physical energy and sexual drive, I'm sure you have heard of it already from the press, now I want my site to market that product specifically, do I build a site revolving around memory loss? (as a sub niche, for example, or around sexual drive during menopause..? which I found is also a good sub niche based on your market research..(= )
This one product help so many things in your body, do I choose just one sub niche..? what could be my bribe..? an article about memory health..? how do I then connect it to my opportunity..?
Thanks in advance..!

Re: Question about the topic of my blog..
Hi Saul,
If you want to promote that one nuskin product then, yes it is best to have a separate site from what the course calls your nerve center. From there you can have a separate page/link to your nerve center and/or your opportunity site. But those links would be more of an aside.
My advice is to make a review site of the product with different pages on how it helps: memory loss, etc.
That way you have more options, more venues, and more parts of your web site to drive traffic to. Make sure each page is just on that one topic. Google (and other search engines) love you more if you make it easy for them to figure out exactly what you are marketing. You may have heard it called silos
But at the heart you need to do market research to see if there is a demand for all the ways your product helps - and perhaps one market is more appealing to you. It definitely helps to be interested in topics you are writing about.
Conversely, you could chose a market - say memory loss - and then review and sell various products to solve that problem . Not just the NuSkin product. Check to see if NuSkin allows such marketing first though. Some companies don't allow you to promote non-company products on the same website as their company products. You could still have a link to your opportunity on such a site if wanted.
Whatever you do make sure you are going in a direction you want to go. If you decide to market the product to people who need to help their sex drive or mental acuity - that means that is what they are interested in. So your bribe - and future marketing - should be in that or related areas. Do you want to open up that? That is why it is important to make sure you have an interest in a market before you delve in.
If you can easily think of topics for an autoresponder series on the topic, then that is good. But if you groan when you think of it, you should aim at a different market. Life is too short for drudgery.
Good luck. My sister loves NuSkin's skin products.

Re: Question about the topic of my blog..
Thank you very much for a great reply..!
I just want to see that I understood you right,
I have my main opportunity site, or nerve center as I've learned in the course.
Then I have a second site promoting the actual product, each page in that site targets a different aspect the product helps.
Then I have links from one site to the other promoting each other.
I still have three challenges coming to my mind:
The first is the fact my company will not allow me to use anything on my site about the company or any of the products, they have a built in system or back office for ordering online through my ID, and it's really crappy...
The second is how do I even build a site about the product..? A blog..? A content site..? Autoresponder email series about the product or niche..?
And third is maybe a solution but isn't there a way I could automaticly send a new subscriber an email promoting this product after a month he is reading my emails..? How do I make it relevant to my site..?
And a fourth thing that comes to mind, maybe they will talk about this until I finish the course but there are so many MLM sites out there with so many strong leaders and the competition is crazy, it's kind of like opening a small shoe shop in a mall across Nike, Next to Adidas and a short walk from New Balance..
The main reason I wanted to go online marketing was to find a fortune of customers... Some system I could replicate to my downlines..
Thanks again in advance..!

Re: Question about the topic of my blog..
Hi Saul,
NuSkin doesn't allow you to have your own website promoting the company? That seemed so mind boggling to me, as an Internet Marketer, that I googled the policy. I got some interesting info from this site http://empowerkit.com/mlm/distributors- ... ompliance/
So based on those severe internet marketing restrictions it seems that some social media and email marketing is the way to go. No matter what you do for a web site including those elements is a good idea.
I am assuming right now that you have a generic opportunity and/or nerve center site and are generating opt-ins. Make sure you tell those opt-ins what to expect from you - including product endorsements if you think it fits in with your offer. I always survey my new folks to find out what they want to hear from me. A great tool for that is survey monkey.
If you were to do a site about a product or products, I always recommend using WordPress.org (not com). It is easy to set up, and you own it. You do have to buy a domain name ($9/yr) and hosting ($4/mo). If you are doing a review site there are some great plug-ins to make this easier. For your site, you should have static pages (the more the better) and a blogging page. Always have an opt-in offer and email series.
The key to getting people to your site is to focus on one market at a time. ideally something with 100K or fewer search results, but that people are making money on (the more ads on the page the better, do not pursue if there are no ads). Make sure there are plenty of local phrase or exact searches. (use the free Google keyword tool for this - I believe the course covers it).
If you do some SEO work and back linking you can get your site up on page one of google, hopefully in the number one spot. If you are doing this yourself, it will take time - depending upon the competition. But with videos, articles and making sure you are book marking and layering your backlinks you will get there. Most network marketers don't do much SEO. If you put out good content, it will all be good. OF course, you can speed it up by using paid sources.
Well, that was sorta a scattergun reply. Keep in mind, that many people in NuSkin are likely ignoring the edict about no NuSkin promoting. You could ignore it too - however, they could also shut you down. Become a Diamond and then you can do what you like. Which seems very unfair to me, but it isn't my company.
Hope all this helps and not just confuses. Best wishes, it looks like you are on the right track.

Re: Question about the topic of my blog..
Another help is that you build a blog revolving around the topic related to your product. Generate traffic to it, build a list then market to that list. That's the best way to build a customer based for your product

Re: Question about the topic of my blog..
Yeah like Edison said you want to create a blog that covers that topic. You don't want a blog that covers more than one topic. I am in the same position. I have a blog that I write about network marketing and the company just came out with weight loss products. I am considering creating a blog that talks about weight loss and building a list for people looking for weight loss. You don't want to co-mingle topics on your blog.
