What do you do with the comments you receive?

Postby Geoffrey Yumul on Mon Jan 18, 2010 7:23 am

Hi MTF2-ers,

I've got some questions for you:

1. Let's say someone takes the time to leave some comments on my blog post, but didn't really subscribe to my autoresponder series, what should I do?
2. They have basically put their email address and full name on my comment pages, does that give me rights to email them? Will I be considered as a spammer if I try to email them, even once?
3. When someone just puts "Hello!" on your comment page, and that person doesn't look like a spammer, do you just respond with "Howdy?" ?

By the way, thanks to Mike Dillard for putting up Magnetic Sponsoring and MLM Traffic Formula 2. I now have a better view of my direction in terms of building my business. I got better at self-discipline too! I still have a long way to go. I know I have blog posts on my site that are plain stooh-pid, but I'm getting there. My website is dominating the serp for the keywords that I chose.

Thanks to all BN-ers who took the time to provide me with valuable insights. I can now proudly say that my nerve center is reaching people, and there are those who leave comments showing appreciation to what they've read. I know better now. I just hope to be better in the next coming months. It really feels good when someone says "Hey geoff, I've had a good read today. Thanks to you!"

Ok, going back to my questions, please let me know how I can handle those comments better.

Thanks,
Geoffrey Yumul
Cheers,

:ugeek: Hi Geoffrey. I would certainly encourage you to send a thank-you email to the person that took the time to comment on your blog. No, you are not spamming; you are being polite and professional--which is DEARLY needed these days. Just read what the person posted, think it over, and respond. And ask additional questions: why did he feel as he did? what would he do if he were in your place? what would he recommend for you? and so forth. By asking him questions, you hook him into contacting you again. Anybody can read a statement, but posting questions helps you bring them back. Superhuman effort is required to prevent one from answering an inquiry. So give my suggestion a try, and let me know of your results. Take care and God bless.

this is a touchy subject - for me people who leave a comment on my post but don't subscribe I simply reply to with a thank you and engaging convo - this more than likely will make it so they come back, leave more comments, pay more attention to your blog and ultimately will subscribe - I would NOT spam them with a buy email everytime someone comments

@ Dean, Jason and Nathaniel:

Your responses are so good that I needed to take a notepad and pen!

Thank you!

Cheers!
