What is Everyone on Better Networker Really Looking For?

Postby Don Egnor on Mon Nov 01, 2010 4:10 pm

I have been a member of BN for quite some time now and have seen subjects and people from all walks of life, different states and countries and some that I really can't ascertain where they are from...no pun intended. I am just very curious as to what everyone on the BN forums and networks are looking for. Are you here to find prospects, learn new things, teach new things, sell folks on your business opportunity, waste time because you have nothing better to do, try to make the world a better place, help people, have a good time or try to be an expert or guru in your chosen opportunity.

I know everyone is not here for the same thing so I am looking for some really great answers and trying to get a better understanding of why everyone is here. This is a great community and I really want to know what everyone's thoughts are so lets get going and just lay it out there.

Well, Don, I on the other hand have only been on the BN for a quite short time. I like talking to people and getting their thoughts of subjects. I come to the BN to learn how to improve my skills of communications. I have been asking questions and giving responses quite often. I don't think I am wasting my time, because I am learning a skill on how to do online marketing. And I am helping others to do the same. I just learned another skill from author Kelly Baader. I would not even known her and requests her assistance if I had not been on the BN. Talking to the experts in their fields can give me the experience I have been looking for and if I have it already, then it can be identified and improved upon. Sometimes when you answer questions others may give, you are learning something that may have not sunk in yet. People can ask similar questions to what they need. If you are familiar with their situation, then you can relate to them and give them an honest, reliable, researched, and many times self experiences answer. Isn't this is what we are here for? To learn from each other? From Kelly Baader, ' to learn our strengths and evaluate our weaknesses'. I am no guru or expert on anything, but I have a wide range of experiences to lend to others. I do get involved in discussions and render my opinions when asked and we all learn from our experiences.

I am not insinuating that anyone is wasting their time...I just want to know.

The mission of the site has obviously changed tack since those days but mine has not. I have made many friends and rubbed shoulders with people like Emma Tiebens, Jerry Chen, Adam Taha, Richard Bravo to name but a few. And I continue to meet new and interesting people all the time.

Good answer there Dean...the relationships are one of the most important things to be gained from BN. Things have changed but like you, my vision is the same as when I first started here.

So, we are here to learn and build relationships. Do we not teach and improve any skills at all?

I come here to "listen", to talk, to chat, to "see", get to know some new people, make new friends, relax, waste a bit of time, learn something new, perhaps share what I know with someone who may be receptive to what I have to say!

Sort of like the local pub...sometimes I even get to wonder what the heck some people have been drinking...

Oh yes, lets not forget that best of all, I come here to be amused...seriously, it's becoming a giggle a minute!

I come here for relationships and to keep my eye on who to build partnerships with.

It's not easy because most don't really share specialised skill but content that I don't really read much. I used to read many articles but now, well, it's not the same as before.

Or I'm having to delete people on friend lists for pming me sales pitch. Some have really dissappointed me, for I expected more from them.

The good thing is I got to know Dean McNamara, and met online Richard Bravo and many others too.

No, I don't teach to improve skills Mario.

You can't improve skills by reading mate and nor by watching one video. It's by doing and by investing in a specialised skill.

Instead, I write an article that has value, and lead to a link at end of the article, for people to learn more, and they then go buy from an affilate link or hire my services. Or to improve their skills etc. :D

Seriously, to improve a skill isn't going to come from reading an article and penny pinching on investing in hot hard core, dirty, roll up sleeve skills.

Forum for me is to get to know people, build relationships, partner with people etc. Like a club, where businesses coming together and you get to know people, and if you want - you can check who is doing what, what they offer without anyone else trying to spam about it.

Also there's a secret do we have. A secret Pizza meeting where all savvy nutters come together to taste my daring HOT, CHILLI, THROW IT ALL IN Pizza's MUHHUUUHAAAAA.

Hey Dean, what can I say?

I guess I'm easily amused!

It's so great sitting here in the shade of this boabab tree watching the menagerie go by.... :D

Yes it is true that we join this place to talk unknown persons and get know how about others. What they are doing. What is happening there. We tell some thing about our self and share our views about different topics. This is best way to meet others.
