I recently read a post by a marketer I really respect and I could not really agree with him more on this. In the post he said there is 4 niches where if you built a solid base in then the chances are you stand to make really good money.

He judged this based on the fact that there is always new products, affiliates and things happening in these niches, so it allows you to continuously prosper by creating a list and then selling to that list over and over again.

So here is the list:

1. Health & Wellness (weight loss anyone?)
2. the Make Money niches (Including network marketing)
3. Relationships (dating, sexual advice, marriage etc.)
4. Passions (Little bit more vague but things dealing with cars, golfing, boating etc.)

It made sense to me.

After-all, since time begun I imagine most people have worried about their health and wondered how to live longer, make more money in their lives, learn how to have a wonderful significant other that can share the things that make their lives more exciting.

Makes sense to me, what do you guys think?

That's pretty funny, though I can definitely see it be true. The demand on that keeps going up and up with every passing year it seems.

I operate in the health & the money niche, so I definitely see the potential.

The whole issue is a bit moot, Gregory. You can make money in ANY niche on the internet if you are selling a product or service that satisfies the need of the purchaser!

The niches you mentioned are all seriously hugely competitive & seriously over-traded.

I know of a couple of guys who are quietly making a fortune online marketing train horns to motorists (for installing on their vehicles) - as affiliates for that product!

Yes there is tons of people making huge fortunes in the smaller niches. Smaller niches though is a different business model in my opinion. A very good one though, and should be applied by anyone seeking multiple streams of passive income.

I actually plan on setting up a few mininiche websites shortly!

These 4 niches are by no means overtraded, the reason why they grow so huge is because the demand grows bigger and bigger. There is always room for a new guy who is smart to tackle it and grow huge.

Though I think it is harder for newbies to get started, especially in the niche of network marketing when it comes to the internet.

But keep in mind - when selling something on the internet, you need to be reaching customers who are interested in your product. There are a number of ways to do this, beyond the scope of this post, but it comes down to you wanting to get to as many customers as possible, for as low cost as possible.

I'm sure we're all in agreement there!

Which means we are looking to get our product onto the top 10 SERP's in the search engines, primarily Google, through free traffic generation methods.

The main way to do this it to target keywords (as we all know) but when last did you do a search for "make money online", "easy way to lose weight", or even "how to improve my golf swing". Take a look at the number of available pages there are...

Then get Google to tell you how many searches are being done on each of those!

That's what I meant by "over-traded".

It is extremely difficult to rank for these terms. So...the logical thing to do must be to narrow down the niche & target very specific long-tail keywords to get your site with its product in front of your target market.

Haha true if you did try to rank for the search engines for "lose weight easy" or anything similar like that you will have a hard time. But there is always niches within the big overall niches. For instance in the make money niche, a smaller niche within the same one is internet marketing, network marketing, affiliate marketing and so on.

And then there is niches in all of those smaller ones too. So it is endless how much you can niche.

Those are the type of products that are "evergreen" just cause people always want to more info on that stuff.

But I do agree with you about the top 10 serps positions. With the right tool you can get to the top even on really competitive words. Just got to out-SEO others

Going after smaller things, working for a long term business model, and going after what you are passionate about will make sure your business is still here 10 years from now.

I agree with that a lot. Doing something you are passionate about is probably the #1 most important thing in the world, especially if you are starting a business.

One thing though on that, sometimes it's okay to do something you're not passionate about using tools that you know how to use that lead you to your passion. For instance I met a lady who sells ebooks to tons of mini niches, things like cure acne, or how to find a divorce attorney or so on.

Niches that no one really could be passionate on. Her passion? Making residual income haha, she makes money everyday cause she SEO'ed the crap out of these mini-niches selling her little ebooks.

She does teach a little in the make money niche but nothing big, think she has only one product, one that I know she never promotes anymore. People find it though everyday from like 10 different high-end blog review posts haha.

you stated there my favorite niche which most definitely is passion. I could never go without it, and also can´t imagine doing something that I´m not passionate about. A well-balanced presence makes it happen!
