What's up everyone - Will here... I wanted to address something that has happened to me several times - even as recently as yesterday: Attack of the TROLLS!

Have you ever been on a webinar or a product launch that gave you the option of logging on with your Facebook account to participate in conversation with other attendees? This seems to be a growing trend among internet marketers - it's a great way to make a dull, boring webinar into something more fun an interactive - something more SOCIAL.

What about YouTube - have you ever commented on someone's video? I do it all the time... it's an excellent way to drive traffic to your channel/website.

Let me cut to the chase - I say what's on my mind, and I'm not afraid to kick around a little dirt. I love the opportunity to engage people in an intelligent exchange of ideas, even if there are two conflicting points of view.

... but on a semi-regular basis there is always someone that gets rubbed the wrong way by something I say - OR - there is someone out there who really wants to CHALLENGE me.

Now, I'm not saying this is a bad thing - I'm always game for a good challenge... but when conversation turns to name calling and insults, one thing is clear: you are now dealing with a TROLL, and all trolls are weak, beta-type personalities.

Don't take bull from trolls, but don't stoop to their level either. Be a leader, act like a leader. The trolls won't make it far in life, and especially not in this business.

I tell it like it is also and nope I am not scared or weak, far from it ... If a loser is a loser then he is a loser. If a wannabe poser is a wannabe poser then he is a wannabe poser. So I guess it depends upon how you define name calling. I will call a loser out in a heart beat, if they do not like it then maybe they should change their ways.

We're not in a bar here, amigo. No one bumped into you and made you spill your beer, and no one said Lynyrd Skynyrd was a terrible band. I think the most telling part of your comment was the fact that you had to actually point out the fact that you aren't a weak person.

Come on James - How often do you see industry leaders and ALPHA networkers pointing out how not-weak they are?

... and I assure you that true leaders never resort to calling people losers or posers. That type of behavior is classless, unrefined, and far from constructive... You won't be attracting decent prospects with that attitude. I encourage you to rethink your strategy.

Based on what you have said, basically all politicians would fall into beta-type personalities (just watch their election ads), but also many businesses (many people - especially Win users - may find the Mac commercial condescending).

Anyway, in the heat of the debate, punches are delivered. Ever took a part of Mac vs Windows; soccer vs football; democrats vs republicans etc debates? Every polarizing debate will sooner or later result in verbal punches, and has nothing to do with being weak or strong, but everything to do with strong opinion. Just try to ask question "what was the best movie of all times" and you will see what a wild turn this type of debate can take.

No doubt, there is a line between expressing opinion passionately and just plain insulting for the sake of insulting. But there is also a very fine line between being strong, and just being polite or even 'politically correct'. You can call a lair "a misinformed person", or you can call him a lair, loudly and clearly. What would Alpha do?
