Harrison, welcome to Betternetworker.com. If you can put a photo on your profile, that be a good start, and the leaders here, then can see who they share knowledge to.
My advise, if you truly want to succeed is as follows; and it's an advise that will save you time, frustrations, and most of all, it will strengthen you to stay focused.
For what will hit you first is how the Internet is a double edge sword, and it is easy to just go and create. However, that will be the first mistake and it is one of which many beginners make and do, with Magnetic Sponsoring.
So let's start and take what I am sharing seriously as it took years to know these stages, investment, practical training. And rarely I share these steps because most do not value the essence of what I am sharing except leaders...
Let's begin.....
1. Mentorship - Two Heads are Better than One
We, have our blind spots, which we sometimes cannot see but to a trained eye, to someone experienced, who has the years and skills - can see them.
A Mentor can reveal the obstacles that is ahead of you.
He/she can also help you to find out what it is you truly want to achieve because if you really want to enjoy the business, then one must cut out all that an average person will fall for.
So the first mentorship because then you can get a tailored strategy, you won't have to buy books to feel alone, but you will have someone to guide you, to give more, to reveal the PRACTICAL side of what needs to be done.
Yes, it needs investment.
Yes, one will need to be teachable, coachable.
So, to slice your learning by 85%, get a Mentor, and they ain't going to come free. Not the serious ones. And they are not going to bang links on threads, chase anyone.
They have values, and if the person does not show these values when asking for help, they are not going to bother. For money doesn't come first with a Mentor. You can't buy a mentor or bribe one.
They first make sure the person qualifies for their time, they ask questions. They see one has the values, comitted to their business. Then when the person qualifies, can follow instructions - they will say how much. Not before.
2. Look at the products in your business. Now, take out some of the products from this product and choose one of them.
It must be of high interest to you.
So if you got diverse products, then look at which one interest you the most or passionate about, due to the area it's focusing on.
For example, if you passion is health, choose one from that one. If it's fitness, choose one for that one.
Now do this..
- Write down 5-10 problems it solves.
- Think carefully who is the target audience.
- What they look like, income level, job or business, education level, comittment level. Create a sheet of a profile of your targeted audience. Put down the values they need to have.
That they serious, they don't make excuses, they already buy similar products but need more assistance, more customer service, one-one help, someone they can call, or something more to read.
3. Let's not make room for assumptions and do the research online
You get a skill or hire someone, or ask your mentor if he has services training to do keyword research. Always go first to your Mentor.
You go online and do your keyword research to find out..
- Is there a demand for the problems your products, services solve.
- Who is buying.
- Why they are buying. Is it aligned with the problems your product can solve?
- Who are the target audience.
- Where they are buying.
- What are their values
- What income level.
- Where they are hanging about and what are they saying about their life, product, where they are buying, likes and dislikes.
- What's the competition.
- What's the competitors sales process, marketing and are they giving free offers.
- Buy the competitors product to test and collate more information.
4. Now, Test and Measure...
You now have seen there is a profitable market. You have done your keyword research and dug deeper than many - to see, that there is a niche.
However, you don't want to make decisions just like that.
Why?
You're building a business not some joke, hobby. So, you need to test the market further. To see if the information you have is correct.
Talk to your Mentor and he will show how to create a strategies to first test the market.
The market research, the testing will help you make a better decision. It won't remove all obstacles like doing the work, learning a skill, being patiant, perservering but it will help you to enjoy your business later on.
AND - make you very valuable because these skills can be sold, outsourced to other businesses at a later date. People love learning from those who do it and show results!
5. Identified and Has Defined You're Own Brand...
After testing, you have found that the information you have gathers is indeed corrrect. You can see right now that..
- A profitable niche.
- People are buying
- Target prospects desperately need to solve ONE MAJOR problem or a small one.
- You have identified a gap in the market to do better than most who deliver similar product or service.
- You lead with a specialised skill.
You see, we cannot focus on everything and everyone. When we start off, we need to be known first for one thing.
Richard Branson was known not for his magazine that he started years ago, but the Records music industry label first called Virgin.
Then when he got known for this, he proved he has the credibility, can do business to the customers, the market and....the BANKS, investors.
Now, he took that credibility to get investment for his Virgin Airline. He saw a problem at an aiport once. He couldn't find a plan for his travel as all were booked.
So he got paper, stood in aile and wrote, "New Airline. You can go here for XYZ!"
That's how he started! Look at him now!
Later, he moved to Trains and many more business.
Focus then on getting known for a problem you are passionate about to solve. Be creative. Get a Mentor. Richard Branson has many Mentors!
6. Creating a Marketing Strategy...
Now, you know what problem you can solve, you know there's a niche market, you've tested it out.
It's time for the Marketing Strategy...
Everything, must be built around this problem because you need to be known to solve only ONE major problem, that may have related areas as well.
This includes..
- The domain name
- The description of the website/blog
- The content
- The front end proposal
- The sales funnel
- The strategy to attract traffic, with a consistent message.
and more..
The whole lot must be build around this one problem, with content, solutions, training. You create a platform that is MUCH MORE than a REPLICA website!
The Marketing system, the strategy will only AMPLIFY, RADIATE who you are.
You cannot fake if you have knowledge in an area. You cannot fake results, expertise. There is no need to. Be upfront, honest, real.
Conclusion...
What I'm sharing with you took me years, knowledge, pain, frustration, and it may sound overwhelming. It can be without Mentorship.
Above all - all these mean nothing, if a person lacks character, integrity and cuts corners.
Your prospects, customers are human beings too. Look after them. Nurture your relationship with them. Look beyond and towards sustainability, repeat sales.
Build a real business and do so with character, discipline and utmost respect for your profession, and your life, and life of others....
And your values, the respect you have for yourself, life will determine, and guide what you do.
Never let money ever steal your character, integrity and damage your reputation.

My pleasure. Only serious entrepreneurs will apply these steps. Those that don't, well, they'll find out the hard way soon enough.

Re: HOW TO USE MAGNETIC SPONSORING
Hi Harrison,
Great question. Did you take MLM 2.0? I am about half way through. One lesson presented the idea that your nerve center should be a blog that separates your company website from social media. Does your blog accomplish this goal?
I think Tim said, social media is like a party - you don't just pitch to social media. Rather you create a blog as a buffer that performs a service, that then collects names or has links to your company sites.
One example: If you are in acne treatments then you would have:
social media ---to--- Blog about skin conditions ----to----company website with acne treatments
Some people are still thinking:
social media ---to---Company web site
I created a blog about survival, including stories about current information to bridge between social media and my storable food opportunity.
While this extra step might make you think "That takes extra time for the customer to get to my site" - the point of internet leverage is that the shear number of lookers would mean those that finally made the trip to your company site are more likely to be pre-sold. That's the idea anyway.

PS: That makes the process more fun if you think of writing as a creative process. Thats the reason I like the concept.
