I can appreciate the power of using social media and the internet to grow your business however let us not forget that we are in the person to person business or belly to belly. The most effective campaign is a combination of the old school and new. I still go to the mall to prospect and I have a system to facilitate that-)
Then I run home to face book LOL...

Thanks for that message. I've also noticed that there is a sign posted near malls and a lot of neighborhoods: no soliciting. That stops a lot of people in the old school way of doing things.
What I have come up with is to actually show people how my products are working for me.
I become the model for my products. If I have samples, I pass out samples with brochures.
I do come back and get on facebook and make friends again.
Being a model for your products may be a little old school, but it seems to work. My friends and co workers are becoming health conscious about what they eat. They see also their friends did not heed their awareness are out sick and loss time off work.
People are listening more and asking more information on the products. Mainly by what they see in my health.
Another co worker promotes another product. His health has not changed, but only getting worse.
Now, would you follow him or follow a person who health has changed before your very eyes for the better?

We really need to have a balance of the two. If you think about it all the new school is is nothing more than an offspring of the old ways . The difference being, it reached more people faster, in a much larger area than we could reach before.

The trick is figuring out how to gain peoples trust in you . With all of the scams out there, they are becoming the bad apple that ruins the whole barrel of goods.

You could have the perfect opportunity to share with someone and it full-feel there every need but I hate having to in a since hard sell anything to anybody.

So today the numbers have changed in a big way . Where before you had to go thru so many NOs to find the YES , it seems the NOs have more than doubled .

I take every opportunity to look people in the eye and hand them my business card. They are far more likely to take action to either become a customer, or even a distributor. Why? Because I looked them in the eye and professionally introduced what I do. I heard their need and I addressed it. They can see that I am genuine, am not at all a slimy salesperson, and if they have a desire to move forward, its on them.

If you are a closet entrepreneur, you are missing a huge profit zone. Get over it already and be the professional you strive to be. Introduce your product or service and let everyone know what you do.

I have been there for the better part of 30 years myself . But if i may ask sir how do you deal with the same challenge thru the internet when you cant have that live one on one advantage?

I agree. The two should be implemented in a more balance way. Trust and reputation will build a good list of targeted people upon marketing via internet. We should not forget the basic things.

You are 100% correct. The basics of business is still the same. Before the phone, it was door to door sales and interacting with the potential customer. Then it was over the phone sales which is still utilized heavily. The internet just made it faster for information to travel and the new technology can streamline processes. But when you combined technology with the fundamentals, you have an explosive mixture to brand yourself.
