padding around post image

Postby Matt Stefanik on Fri Mar 25, 2011 10:57 am

Cannot for the life of me get padding around my images in my blog posts and articles on here. The html is correct and appears as it should in the editor, but when I submit it, the text is right up next to the image, which makes it a little harder to read and plus it looks ridiculous. Any suggestions?

Hello Matt, I recommend that you submit a support ticket and ask them to look at this problem. They will need to modify the CSS for the BN site to set the margins and paddings to allow for floating images in blogs and articles. Kerry

Hey Matt,

CSS is always a cascade and so sometimes what you load gets overwritten. Other times you need to be aware of a simple fact that since Wordpress and many sites are CSS controlled that HTML tags are overwritten by the CSS and are always going to be ignored. Use style to make sure your formatting is included in the cascade.

There are two solutions I have used to be a work around. One is to embed a <img Style="Padding:10;"> in the img tag. This may not work here in BBC code.

The other solution I use being an adobe creative suite user is to take your images into photoshop add a background that is 10px bigger than the image then save a new jpeg with white space around the image. It works anywhere to make sure you get some padding.

I know this is not an HTML solution but it does get the result you are looking for.

I would have to agree with this. I know a lot of people that use "snagit". It is something like $50 bucks but it lets you put the padding and save the image. It is a really cool tool.
