I know everyone has something that works like gang-busters. So come on lets share! Its not about links to your own stuff though.

Mine is this: I follow a big leader, I go to their stuff and I try to be the first one to leave a value-based comment. This is especially great to do on Facebook. Go to their fanpage, and comment on their latest post. But don't just say I agree, everyone will do that. But put in your own value-based observation on what they are talking about. Make sure it is relevant. Then many will like your comment, and then they go back and check out your profile.

Post value-based content on your blog everyday. Make sure its value-based, in other words not pitching something. You will increase your authority naturally. This will increase your clicks on your links

With regards to social media, I expose my brand as much as possible in terms of profiles, fan pages and groups. Then I spend an allocated time, posting content, liking and commenting on other people's content.
