(Sorry this is a bit long, but it doesn't merit an article)
Become well known and then the money will follow.
This philosophy is so ingrained within you by now that you probably won’t like what I am about to say.
The plan goes something like this… help people without want and become a celebrity. Then all of a sudden, people will start calling you and begging to do business with you. Will that work? Of course it will. But at what cost? How long will you have the stamina for it? Can you afford to keep losing money, knowing that someday it will all pay off?
Meanwhile, the people that you see climbing the ranks of your network marketing company are doing something different. You may have even wondered “who is that person? I have never heard of them before”. Those people, the unknowns, are getting rich while you are sitting by and worrying about perception.
The people that are really making it out there share a common secret. Work like an soldier ant with laser guided focus every day until they see results.
But do you want to know what makes me really sad? It’s that social media and attraction marketing is an illusion used by other people to get your money. They don’t really want you to succeed. They would rather keep you struggling so that you will keep buying courses.
Okay, now that I have stirred the hornets’ nest… what is your opinion?

Re: Would you Rather be Well Known or Rich?
Interesting perspective. Being new to Better Networker I am just starting to read these posts. In a lot of them I think the post or article is right on but just only to a certain group of people. Yes, some people spend money getting to the top, some people are making money and doing well. There are reasons for that.
I disagree that attraction marketing is an illusion. It is alive and well and working. I have not bought a course in years due to my shoestring budget. And, things are beginning to work because of working like a soldier!!!
Thank you for posting. Looking forward to other replies.

You are right. Attraction marketing is not an illusion, it does work. But it is being mis-represented as the way to find success.

Rich...is that succinct enough?
You said something very key Cheryl, that success comes from hard work and focus. If becoming an icon is your end-goal that is fine as long as it get's you what you want.
For me it's lifestyle.

Well Cheryl, I'd rather have been shaken, not stirred.
A person who is well known is rich by all means. He has a following that will last forever. He has built a life long relationship of friends from all over. He can accomplished many more things in life than just being rich.
Being rich is definite. But being well known and growing is infinite!

Most excellent answers! Shaken not stirred
I guess it comes down to a matter of achieving success today or being willing to wait for the big prize. I still think that most of those that we all know so well made their mark by using means other than the slow and frustrating process of attraction. I think they teach it one way but actually achieved it another.

I agree with your perspective. Being famous can lead to becoming rich. That's why major companies pay a celebrity millions to represent their product.

Re: Would you Rather be Well Known or Rich?
Totally wrong.
I mean, completely off base.
Well, the idea that you can dork around on twitter and facebook all day and make money doesn't always work (although I dork around there a lot and actually do make money from it... but that's another story).
Creating an attractive character and a raving following totally takes time. It takes sacrifice, it takes increasing your value (by buying products and reading and studying them), and it takes some delayed results.
But in the end, it totally pays off. I mean, it pays off at quantum levels.
I would totally rather use the laws of attraction to attract wealthy and successful people to me (even though that takes time) than to just go out there and try to grub up some sales.
Because in the end, my most powerful leverage points are these 3 things:
1. A raving following
2. Relationships with very successful people
3. Testimonials (which tend to come a lot more often from people who think you're super-cool).
All of these things come naturally to attraction marketers. And again, the time it takes to build the brand and grow the following may seem like a lot (and that's where most people die off) but those who stick with it yield huge dividends.
That being said, you can definitely shortcut your success massively. So to be crystal clear, the prerequisites of being a fabulously successful attraction marketer does not necessarily include a great investment of time money or effort, just a highly leveraged outlay of at least two of those three.

The cool thing about Better Networker is that these posts never go away.
So Rob, once you get your ravenous following, you can use this post to judge your accomplishment.
Look, I don't doubt the results or even the possibilities. What concerns me is that so much effort is being put into keeping everyone on the same path. Why? because it allows for some great course material. The longer you struggle, the more money there is to be made off of your back.
Why not put all the nonsense aside and just do the tasks that produce results?
