Lawrence, if you use the scenario of the forum being a coffee shop and you are there to exchange comments, have lively and interesting conversations without creating speeches or lecturing someone, then this post probably belongs in the article or blog section, wouldn't you agree?

My town is probably different but everyone would have made some excuse to leave if anyone would have done this in the "forum" of a community round table. Same rules would apply here in this forum.

When I saw your post subject the first thing that came to mind to me was a bit of humor and an old joke.

What is an expert?
A man with a briefcase that is more than 100 miles from home.

Personaly I though it was actually an appropriate post for the lounge, it started a conversation

Great post here Lawrence. I do believe you have the description of an expert down pat. Many, many people can have success in something, yet when someone ask them how or what they did, they are unable to break it down into simple easy to follow steps for someone else. The one who can break the steps down, teach it to others so they too can have success becomes of the expert.

An expert is not a expert because they call themself by that term.

They are referred to as an expert by those that found their advice and instruction valuable, to the point, and effective.

Yes I agree. You are not an expert just because you say you are. You become one by the following you get just by helping others. This takes time. Fortunately for us here at BN we know the difference and can spot the leaders easily. What is awesome is that we are all winners because we won't give up on ourselves. Stay in the game. Don't give up and you will be an expert sooner than you think.

Thanks Matt - We all have people in our lives we believe to be experts because of how they've helped us learn from them and their successes. They may not even refer to themselves as an expert, yet we feel they are.

So true Debi and Lawrence! Just saying it is not necessarily true! Sometimes its only to be able to point them in the right direction. In the MLM world its about being able to duplicate your success through all that you bring into your business. Each person comes with their own gifts. Not everyone will be able to say they are an expert at everything, but then who would want to be! Like Debi says give them easy to follow steps!
