Hey everybody....
I just got back from my post deployment vacation, and it was very much needed. I was just trying to see who in the BN community truly takes vacations. And if you do, are they "business vacations" or true no holds bar vacations with friends or family. Please let me know.

Re: Vacations....do you take them?
Yes! I find vacations essential both to refresh myself as well as a reminder to myself and others about why Network Marketing is so wonderful.
Americans often value working long and hard as if it has some intrinsic value. It is a culture value that one can easily adopt without thinking about it much.
I always try to think lifestyle: what life style do I want to live. It also make good business sense. Who wants to join your business opportunity if all they see is you working like a dog, always on the phone, and running from one thing to another. It isn't what I want to do with all that "time freedom" that is touted in network marketing circles.
My family of 4 has a policy to take at least one 4 day weekend a month and then 2 or 3 longer vacations during the year. That is what we like to do. Currently, we spend most of the year in Panama as well.
I wish you all happy and frequent vacations of your choosing.

Betsy,
Well said....and I am jealous. One four day weekend per month! That is freakin' awesome! I am lucky if I am able to get away twice per year, but I am also limited by my deployment schedule. But you know what, I completely agree with what you mean about us as a society. We work ourselves into the ground, and it is just accepted. Why? "Because it's what our parents did..." or something similar is what most people say. As you said, the reason you do network marketing is to have the vacation time to enjoy life. Thanks for the great addition.

Re: Vacations....do you take them?
Hi Tim,
Thanks.
Thank you too for the sacrifices you are making for us and our country - not to mention your vacation schedules being messed up due to deployments. I sincerely hope you keep safe at all times.
It seems contradictory, but you need to be very strict about taking vacations. It is too easy to put it off and then look back on the year and realize you only took one - or none. There is Always too much too do. It used to happen to me all too often, until I made it a priority.
Best wishes.
Thanks.

I completely get what you mean. You MUST make them a priority. I see them as a time to recharge the engines. If you don't do it, you won't be worth anything to yourself or your team.
Tim
P.S. Thank you for your kind words. It is an honor to be able to serve our country.

Re: Vacations....do you take them?
Hi Tim, unfortunately I have not yet got to the stage where I take an actual vacation, I always seem to end up working most days. I took a week off before Easter, so I had a stretch of about 10 days of supposed inactivity, but only ended up with about 4 days of actual holiday out of the 10.
It's probably a throw back to my childhood when we used to go away on holiday every Christmas for about 6 weeks and where we used to go, no mobile phones, landlines or televisions could follow! It was great, nothing to do but swim, fish and walk along the coast. I really miss those times, very much simpler back then. Basically what this means is that if I am not sitting on a beach somewhere cut off from humanity, I tend not to feel like I am on holiday - ugghhh - I need to get over it!
So, thank you for this post, it is a grim reminder to me that my kids are getting older every day that passes and that the time is now!
All the best
Alan

Hey Alan,
Thank you for your addition to the conversation. As I am sure that you are aware....I am just getting done with my post deployment vacation. It has been awesome and a much needed recharge of the engines. Even if you don't think you can....scheduling a vacation is a must! Again, thanks for sharing your thoughts! Keep up the good stuff.

I do actually take short mini breaks, which I find re~charge the batteries, GREATLY. I live by the sea, so also find that helps with copywriting and Creative Ideas.

Hi Timothy,
On my side here in Asia, I do take vacations together with my family. That's part of my weekly routine because I see its a need especially if you are in this industry. You have to take a break to refresh yourself from toxics and stress
I also lived just 30 minutes away from beach (search: pearl farm beach resort)
