Opt-in Form Design Help Needed

Postby Daniel Attard on Mon Aug 08, 2011 9:57 am

Hey guys and gals,

Does anyone know a thing or two about optin form designing? A friend of mine has iContact but its sign up forms are really dull. I have tried the MaxBlogPress plugin but it does not work on my sidebar for some reason. Any ideas, tips?

Daniel the iContact forms were meant to be super simple.
Most of the time designers/webmasters will integrate the code into custom form styles.
This is why you don't see the fancy form builders like Aweber or GetResponse.

You also have the increasing features in wordpress themes and plugins like popup domination, list eruption, etc., that just need a simple code snippet and they do the rest to format the form.

You might want to try the MBP Optin Form plugin instead of SubscriberMagnet:

Hey Daniel,

The guys over at PopUP Domination also have a free plugin called Sidebar Domination....

Its not as customizable as others, but it does look better than the generic forms from icontact.....

.

Its probably a code problem then, perhaps a missing div tag or something.
In most cases thats what Ive found to be the culprit.

I can look at the code is you want to post it here.
Just use the "CODE" tag from the post editor.

.

Is that the actual code you're posting in your sidebar widget?
It looks incomplete...

If not, post the actual specific code you are using; exactly as you're posting into your sidebar.

Put it in a code tag so nothing gets stripped...

Code: Select all

Hi Daniel
I had the same issue with icontact.
I solved it by using some free software from Kompozerhttp://sourceforge.net/projects/kompozerwindows/, a WYSIWYG editor.
You can copy and paste the form from icontact. Copy the HTML file of the form to the HTML screen in Kompozer. You can then work in the visual screen and add images and text as you like. Then paste the html into a text widget on your sidebar.
icontact message builder is braindamage to work with, so you can copy the templates to Komposer work with them and paste the HTML back into icontact.
I hope this helps, If you need to contact me, my infomation is on my profile page.
Cheers
