What to do when the little voice in your head whispers "give up, you can't do it".
I have bi-polar disorder (type 2) so I hear that a lot. I have a picture of myself taped to my monitor--one that looks sad and afraid. I tell it every day "You can sit there feeling sorry for yourself if you want to, but I have things to do." Odd? Yes, but you do what you have to do in order to keep moving.
I don't know what your personal issues are that try to keep you from your success, but I am telling you now - persistence will beat every one of them. There is a saying that the will to win is often overshadowed by the refusal to lose, and I believe that. I believe it because I have seen it.
When I was in Marine Corps bootcamp, there was a very small girl there who happened to be my rack-mate. She weighed 98 pounds. If you do not know, the packs carried by Marines weigh upwards of 75 pounds. The first time (actually the first 20 or so) that she put hers on, she fell over.
She cried, she struggled, she even screamed sometimes, but there DID come a day that I did not have to pick her up. That tiny girl swears I helped her through it, that I am the reason she became a Marine. Actually quite the opposite is true. You see, I got a stress fracture just shy of graduation, and had to wait an extra six weeks before I could complete my training...I watched my platoon graduate while I sat in the bleachers with my crutches. Two months later I graduated.
Why? I was given the option to go home instead of the medical platoon. I saw many recruits do exactly that. What I kept in firmly in my mind was the first time my former rack-mate stood unassisted with her pack. That 98 pound girl NEVER gave up; her determination and persistence fueled mine. My blues are still hanging in my closet.
Every time I think "ah Man I can't do that" I think of her. What keeps you motivated?

Re: What Feeds Your Determination?
What keeps me motivated is knowing my 'why.'
I see other people struggling through life with health issues same as I did and knew nothing about doing something about it.
After several years of coping with it, I started doing research and what causes many illnesses in our lives. While doing this research I noticed other people were struggling as well trying to cope with their health issues.
What if I could help them as well? What if I could tell them what I have found out through my research? What if I could show someone else the benefits of what I found out and is using myself?
I found out that I couldn't reach enough poeple by talking to everyone individually. I started doing online marketing to reach more people for them to benefit from this knowledge.
All I ask anyone is to check out the website and look at the facts to a better health lifestyle. That's not selling to anyone, but giving the information freely to benefit anyone visiting the site.

Thanks Mario!
I have been posting ads in the classifieds and sending e-mails, but very few people respond, and usually they are trying to recruit ME. (sigh) I have a question about "forced matrix" opportunities...that just sounds kinda fishy to me so I haven't signed up for any of them. What are your thoughts on them?

Determination...
Hey Andrea,
Don't listen to that voice! It's the voice that will lead you to failure if you choose to follow it. It's really just a lie to distract you from the truth...which is YOU CAN DO ANYTHING THAT YOU WANT IN LIFE!
What keeps me on track is the fact that I have two beautiful kids and now that they are taken care of financially, we're going to have a third one. THAT'S what's called laser targeted focus my friend.
So the question is...Why are you doing what you're doing right now? Once you've answered that, then THAT becomes your drive and you simply cannot be stopped...I'm not kidding you on that.

Thanks Vincent
I've been told (too many times to count) that I'd argue with a fence post. I have decided to succeed in internet marketing, so not even *I* will get in my way. Now I just have to learn HOW. It's irritating sometimes that I don't learn fast enough to suit me.
I did climb a mountain once alternating my arms and legs when one or the other gave out, so tenacity isn't an issue. I am currently looking into products to add to my first business, since multiple streams of income seems to be necessary for survival. My problem is traffic. I just signed up with MLSP, (NOT an advertisement...just a statement) and I'm going through the training offered there.
My husband has actually pulled the plug on my computer, ( I turned all of his underthings pink for that ) but I WILL learn and I WILL make this work.

Hey
I am sorry to hear about your struggle. I know that we all feel like giving up at some point especially when we do not see the results. Recently, I wrote an article about defining "your why" which I believe could a use for you
If you want to read it, the website is below!

Thanks Lynda,
You have helped me immensely by directing me to BWB (again NOT an advertisement, simply a statement) I even have a twitter account now!
Since I started out with only an e-mail account, I'd say I have moved forward quite a bit.
I'm just getting to know people right now, but that is the first and most important step, correct? It is actually quite fun, meeting different kinds of people and seeing how they think. (This coming from someone who was painfully shy as a child!)
A question...what do you think about the vitamark products? I have been looking at them, and thinking about trying them for myself.

Re: What Feeds Your Determination?
I've read a great book called Excuses be Gone
It's pretty awesome.
On top of that book I have listened to Burt Goldman's Quantum Jumping
After listening to them both, they each made so much more sense.
You have same amount of chance that it could be easy or that it could be difficult, so why would you think of how difficult it's going to be?
When the chance that it's going to be easy is the exact same
One thing that has been great for me has been doing a "Quantum Jump" right before I go to bed.
If you set your mind right, before you go to sleep. You have put your mind to work as to how you are going to accomplish that
