Lynda, I take issue with your premise. I've seen plenty of guru's that claim to have joined their first MLM, 'discovered' the internet/social media/youtube/digg/pokemon or whatever and has six figure success in 30 days!

However, I've been steadily working my craft, focusing on several areas, and just remade my homepage as a 'training' site. Basically, all the stuff I've been learning and trying (and feel there's little quality information out there) I felt the need to get off my mind and begin blogging about it!

As you said, learn it, do it, share it.

There is no ninja trick to this, its about knowing your target-market and writing about what they want to read!

When I first started out in Network Marketing or what in the "old days" we called multi-level-marketing, now shortened to MLM, it was tapes and book that gave us the knowledge we needed and helped us with our Personal Development.

Now we have so many other sources. And you are asking why is she bringing those things up? Because it is only through experience and filling yourself up with things that you read or listen to that you can give out things that will be helpful and meaningful to others. Of course the other element, is that you must apply.

So if I want to offer a new trick on how to bring people to my blog, I must first read from others, apply what I have learned, then from my own experience share what I have learned. This is really all there is to it, and I am sure many great and learned contributions will come after this. :)

Really what I think is that, many people getting into MLM usually puts the cart before the horse. Everyone is after the gains. Really the gains matters alot, but building a team or a network of people, should be the best, people who have read from you and see you as a leader. So whenever you introduce a program to them, they are fast to get it

Yes Mike that can be true. The problem I see happening is so many putting out rehashed and copy and paste and not putting much thought into it. Or the other thing they do is to put in dozens of links to their capture page and no real meat among the potatoes if you know what I mean!

Its really important to find something you can speak about from the heart. And although I know everyone has their own company and product that they love, no one is looking for it. They are looking for solutions to problems, It is then our job to find solutions, and it won't always be our product. Sometimes, it will be that of the competition. But it is better to be authentic, and to actually help. I have always been rewarded by doing that even with money but especially but respect.

So JP where is the issue. You are in the process right? As we grow and learn we become more capable of producing the meaningful content!

Once again, I attempt humor and it fails miserably and publicly.
In short, you said to work, learn, and then turn around and share the info back out. My 'disagreement' was that there are so many guru's claiming if you just follow their system you can have 5-figure success in 30 days (or similar claims) without all that wasted time "learning".
See, humor?
Irony perhaps?

*sigh*.

Amazing thread Lynda.. and some great points.

Yes people really love to hear from YOU, and to have a sense of a real person who is producing all these ideas in their content. I believe this is when producing content becomes FUN, especially when people start talking about how great the stuff is that you're putting out there. :D

The more transparency you can give about yourself in the way you produce content, while also showing your expertise is a great formula.

And I think number 1 it's about reading. EVERY DAY.. set aside that reading/personal development time to really continue to absorb as much great stuff as you can.

Rock on!

Luke ;)

Great thread Lynda,

What I see lacking is transparency. Anyone can create great content if they take the time to do it, but even then there could be this invincible wall that is created where we never truly see the other side of this persons life. Sometimes this wall is created because the person is maybe only making an extra $500 or $1,000 a month and is afraid people won't perceive them as a leader.

In my opinion they are leaders because even at that small amount they are doing something that most never do. They are doing something right and if they speak from their experience I believe the quality of their content would be awesome.

Results speak louder than words. If you are writing an article about how to explode your traffic through article writing then share examples of how this worked for you and how you accomplished that. What steps did you take, etc.

Whether it's content about marketing or self help or whatever the subject may be, great content for me is sharing - this is what I did, how I did it and these are the results I received. That is transparency for for me.

Appreciation from the Heart,

Richard De Haven

Thanks Richard now this is absolutely what this whole forum needs to be about. I agree that transparency and using what you have learned is important.

I have only one issue with that: What does one do when they have no experience to draw from?

In my humble opinion its okay to share what others have already done and works, and then after that come in with and this is how I intend to apply it!

Great Question Lynda

Here is my opinion. Even if you are newbie you may have lots of life experiences to draw from. You may not know about recruiting or sponsoring but perhaps you know what it takes to build relationships that benefit you and the other person.

For example, I produce Children's Theater and I have over 100 cast and crew paid and volunteer working on our large productions. I can take my experiences of building relationships, performing, speaking and translate that into MLM.

I guess you can say I have become very knowledgeable in building relationships that inspires others to want to participate. Many of the same principles are transferable to the world of MLM. So I could write from that experience.

I can also use the principles I have learned in the law of attraction that work for me and share about those experiences. For example last year I set a goal of raising $100,000 for one show. $65,000 was the most I had done before. Through my experiences of using the law of attraction I accomplished the goal.

There is so much we can share even when we are new if we just learn to look within ourselves and examine our life lessons. Everyone has life experiences that they can use to share. It's not all about marketing know how.

The marketing and building an MLM business know how will come over time and it would be another skill to share about as time goes on.

Perhaps everyone needs to see themselves as a leader from the beginning and not as a newbie with no experience.

Oh yeah Richard, absolutely! You must draw from the experiences you already have. Key point though, don't make your past failures your focus, but your successes!

Thanks Luke, I definitely agree that transparency is very key. I think what you are saying is make sure that what you say is your voice, how you would really talk. At least that is how I would define being transparent. It cannot sound like someone you are not congruent with, because that comes across!
