What if it's too good to be true?

Postby Taryn Perry on Sun Nov 06, 2011 6:39 pm

Could a network marketing company really pay 100% commissions?

Well, David Sharpe and David Wood have surely paved the way and set the bar high for others to follow.

In my short time in network marketing (3+ years), I've never seen a company that will pay you 100% commissions for referrals.

I can imagine you are just as baffled as we were (husband and I are getting after it).

But don't take my word for it, check it out yourself:

Well Taryn, you haven't checked out Empowerism. They were paying out $20.00 of a $24.95 start up cost for the subscription. The $4.95 goes for a one time processing fee, and the rest to the Affiliate, and Empowerism has been doing it since 2001.

Of course the one time fee went up slightly to $9.95, however still the same $20.00 to the Affiliate on the initial sale. So again, nothing new under the sun as the good book says. It's like this, hey Taryn, I got this great training program and if you join my opt-in list and pay me $25.00 to take a look at it, here's what I'll do for you. All you have to do is recruit or sign up one person and you get your money back e.g. OPM and OPT - yours and theirs. The person you signed up to get your money back.

So basically they got you to do three things:

1. Opt-in to their list "KEY".
2. Pay $25.00 for doing so
3. Get you to go to work for them (OPT) to build not only their lists but for you to chase the $25.00 carrot to get your initial investment back and then some hopefully. Do the numbers if you figure how many people signed up already. These guys got thousands to do this, and thousands to go to work for them to keep building their lists basically costing them nothing other than what it would cost them anyway in bandwith, and other server side maintenance when a business grows that fast.

Of course they put in the due diligence and laid the ground work and executed their plans to make it happen, so all the power to them.

Plus again, the real money is on the referrals and upsales which looks like it could cost one hundreds if not mistaken. Again, Empowerism is a much better fit for someone on a much tighter budget and the resources and training library and updates are extensive, so again. Nothing new under the sun.

I just think you have to look past the money and say, "Is this something I really want to be marketing?" I mean training sites are a nickle a bakers dozen now online, and well...the spokes are not going to make much, and the hub (the ones who own the business and servers running it) will cash in big, because they are the 5%. Simple as that.

Thanks for the post, Harry, and providing another option. I'll certainly look into it, but have been following David Wood and David Sharpe for some time and really respect their work, demeanor and guidance.

Always have to have options, right??

I do dig the 100% commissions that Empower Network has to offer!

Tell me something, you guys?
Are you building a business by making only money by getting sign-ups or are you building relationships to grow your business?
As businesses go up and down, customers can make you successful as well as make you broke. If you built your business on just making money and all your customers left you, as they usually do, where would you be?
I would think that once you built a business on relationships your friends will stay with you longer because they become to know you and your intregity.
You only emphasize making the money on the business and forgetting about the people who got you there.

What if it is true? I know David Wood to be honest. And I have already seen it happen to my team. I believe and I am already in.

Mario, you are absolutely right. Like any business, it starts with building relationships before anything. That's how I train my team to build and cultivate their teams. You MUST get to know people first. Find out what their needs are, then present them with the concept (whatever the business may be).

I certainly have and do give major credit to anyone that's helped refine me as an online business woman. There's no doubt about that. This post wasn't intended to take away from that, but I appreciate your point.

Thanks for commenting all!

And congrats to you Lynda! I'm really excited to be a part of this organization that is full of great, influencial and passionate people.
