Why Does It Work For Me But Maybe Not For You?

I am not sure whether that is really true but what I know for sure you can give the same set of steps to two different people and they don't necessarily get the same results. Why is that? There are some key things I think that do affect it.

1 - What you think about it does matter! I have seen people join me in my network marketing and they sort of go through the motions but they don't have any faith.
2 - It takes a lot of commitment, it is not an over-night success thing ever! I know that all of the real people that are building a big business have gone through a process and it took a lot of commitment to get there (including me).
3 - They forgot the cultivation part of the process. Farmers always understood this. But today everyone wants to just do a little and get the results, it just doesn't work that way!

Lynda,

Great post here. I think you are spot on. Everyone is different, and most people do not have the discipline, follow through or patience to build a successful business.

But the people who do usually succeed.

Great post Lynda and spot on.

I gave one task, to two people. The task was the same.

One took two days as he promised himself he'll get it done so he can move forward.

The other guy?

Took him 3 months and he still didn't do it all and had to be set packing until he does.

Lack of discipline, work ethic which comes from 'not knowing why.' No urgency but when job goes, watch how the panic kicks in. And some still don't move and do same mistake all over again.

I think its all in the head.

Belief is one thing. There is belief in the industry, belief in one's company, and belief in one's own abilities.

I actually don't think it has anything to do with work ethic in particular. There are a lot of great dedicated employees who can't make it in Network marketing. I think it is the difference between having an employee mindset as compared to having a business builder's mindset.

We have all known those people who just seem to go get er done no matter what it is they set out to do. It is a mindset.

Everyone knows that anyone can join an MLM company. It is an equal opportunity for all. But there are precious few who already have the mindset to do the actions necessary to succeed.

For the people who can't get it going, give them a different assignment...have them complete a personal development/leadership skills program as action ONE. Teach them to build productive habits and make them accountable to you with a short PARQ report every day. If a person won't do that, they won't succeed in anything else.

Never give up on anybody.

Hi Lynda ,
a great post ,very true.Ithink it boils down to the commitment and
attitude of the individual.
Some people never give up even when they encompass failure and
hardship.
Other people just moan about how easy it is for the person who has
achieved their wealth from hard work and commitment.
A lot is in the persons belief,and many of them have failed before they
even start.They then convince themselves it would never have worked
anyway.

Commitment I would say yes for sure. One thing I have found is we don't know the journey of another person, only what we can see today!

Your points are well taken for sure. One problem with sending them to do personal development, they won't have the patience to do that. They got into it to make money. So teaching them just personal development won't cut it either. I know, I remember how frustrated I was. The spirit to succeed may not be in every single person. I will not give up but you can't put that spirit into them either.

OK guys, this is a subject I was discussing with my coach and my wife the other day, and it's perfect.
How do you determine whether or not someone is serious or curious? Are they a business builder or a hobbyist? Tire kicker or buyer?

Like Adam said, you give an assignment to someone as a kind of test to see if they are the real deal. But, even that isn't a true test. You've got to get into their head somehow to examine the motivation, the passion, the drive.

How do you determine if someone is earnest and determined and be reasonably sure?

Not everyone is right for your business ,you just have

Great share Adam I agree with you. They will do it or not do it for their own reasons, and we will not gain anything by pushing but giving assignments is a great way to find out if they are really serious!
