Sales is based on likability and trust if your prospects do not like you or trust you then no sale. Experts say that only 1% of sales are done on the 1st contact and 80% of sales are done on the 5th-8th contact.

Now why does it take between 5-8 contacts? It takes that long in order to build enough trust. Why do you already have trust with? Your friends and family.

This is why many traditional companies will say you can make a sale with in the next 24-48 hours using that approach.

I totally agree. Sales/conversions are built on trust and relationships.
A tip I learned from network marketing guru, Ray Higdon, is after you
get a lead send them asap to a "trusted" site like Facebook and connect
with them their to build a relationship.

Definitely Chris. If sales were made on the 1st attempt without even trying to build a relationship or trust, then nearly everybody would be making mega bucks. Many people have said it before - people join people not businesses. So focus on connecting and building with people instead of going forward with the business..
