Hot Dog cart -to-McDonalds

Postby Chris Brown on Wed Apr 11, 2012 10:34 am

I see people go for years in MLM and never make it to the full time income. People look at MLM as being different than any other business.

Richard Branson CEO of Virgin says: One thing that stops people from success is proper funding.

If you dream was to start a McDonalds franchise $1.5 Million dollars you could go get a business loan or you could start a hot dog cart business for $500-$1,000 (this is what most people in MLM do)

After a few years you raised enough money to buy a food stand after a few more years you raised enough money to buy a food truck ans then finally after 25 years you raised enough money to buy a McDonalds.

Buy getting a business loan you can go full time immediately.

If I was going to buy a McDonalds I would get a business loan. But I'm not. Taking out a loan and sinking yourself in debt is not smart business for the average MLMer and it's not needed. Matter of fact that's the beauty of the MLM business model, the average person without much money can build an above average income. Persistence, faith, and beliefe in yourself is far more important than how much you spend.

Far too many people with no money and a ton of debt have become extremely wealthy in MLM for me to think its all about how much money you have or spend.

Commitment to never quit, ever, will get you more than anything else. This business is about You and what You put into it.

We are not growing our business to buy a McDonald's. That's a totally different world. Being home base businesses won't qualify for a business loan. For the most part most MLMers don't need it as they build their businesses on their budget that they make. In about 25 years you could buy a McDonald's franchise. But why would you? After 25 years of doing this business, you are ready to retire and live off the residuals and you are set to make more than the usual franchise would bring in.
Your business is built on relationships not just repeat customers.

I was just making a point most people in network marketing take the slow path if you get some working capital to can leave your job and enter your home based business and stay there.

Unlike many who work a job for 3 years building there business very part time.

Sounds good Chris but it's not very practical.

First things first. Build a solid business foundation, establish your business, have a solid workable business plan, and develop the skills you must have. Once that is all done then maybe consider a loan. But, once you have done those things you probably won't need a loan.

I agree with Chris. Proper funding is the biggest hurdle for many in network marketing. Everyone will build their business differently. Some will go the fast way, but most will go the slow way.

I think the approach would be different if one is using debt and equity for their business. I suggest picking an area that you are really good at, and outsource the other skills that you are not as much. If you are using financial leverage, you have to apply synergy.
