How important is mindset whilst running an online business?

Postby nathan whitehead on Wed Apr 04, 2012 9:10 am

Hi people,

Hope you are well.

I am fairly new to the forum and would like to engage in a disscussion, My name is nathan whitehead and i would like your opinions on how important you believe it is to have the correct mindset to keep pushing yourself through obstacles that may arise in business.
I believe the right mindset is massively important and helps you to maintain and set new goals and objectives, although this is my opinion do you agree or disagree? Or have any factors that may improve someones outlook.

Thanks for listening.

Hello Nathan,

Welcome to the BN forum.

I truly believe your mindset has a whole lot to do with your success, in any endeavor.

You have to have belief as your starting point in any and everything you do, if you want to progress any further.

But, even more important, I think, is to take action.

Educate one's self on the matter at hand and then begin to take action towards the project or endeavor, even if you encounter mistakes, at least you've learned what not to do.

Heck even playing the lottery requires a person to believe enough to go out and purchase a ticket.

Willie,

If there was a "like" button I would click on it.

Action is more important than mindset. As I tell all my new team members, don't let your emotions control your actions, let your actions control your emotions.

I truly believe that your actions can control your mindset, and ultimately your success.
Best Regards,

Hi Nathan
Welcome to BN.

You asked how important is mindset, for any home business owner, this is a crucial part of your development. Far too many have the mindset of an employee rather than that of a business owner.
To get what you have never had before, you have got to do what you have not done before...

Most successful marketers are always on a self development tip. Most even though they are coaches, also hire a coach!

Here's a blogpost I personally wrote on mindset and what it can do for your business, please read and enjoy..

Hi Nathan. Welome to the forum. As you will find, it is a great place to ask questions and gain knowledge from some very experienced business owners. Personally I think the right mindset is essential to success; "whether you think you can, or whether you think you can't, either way you are right". I love that, when you think about it, it is sooo true. Anything is possible when you have clear goals and the right mindset. Good luck ;)
Best wishes, Hayley McKeever

Nathan,

While anyone can decide to start any type of business venture whether it be online or offline, there are only so many that are actually successful. While picking the right product or service to fit your target market might have a lot to do with that success, I think that most common trait of successful business entrepreneurs is that they have a mindset to overcome any adversity that may be thrown at them. The easiest way to eliminate the pain that comes with a challenge is to quick, but if you are the right mindset you will be able to persevere and overcome any setbacks.

So mindset should be the first thing one should focus on when starting out in any venture is to get in the correct mindset to succeed.

Yours in success.

The replies to this thread have been wonderful. I, too, agree with the fact that mindset will be a make or break in the success of your business. It's so easy to get caught up in the set backs that will inevitably occur. It's the positive mindset that will keep you moving forward. I recently wrote a blog posting about this topic: http://www.ibosocial.com/CherylAH/blog.aspx?blogid=79467

If you have it at the forefront of your mind that you are going to be one of the 3% that actually sticks it out and achieves success, then it will happen. You are in control of your mindset and outlook.

Yes, I agree Nathan. Mindset is key. That is where it all begins.
Taking action with the wrong mindset will not produce desired results.
A great book on the topic is Mind Power by John Kehoe.

The right mindset is the beginning for anyone who doesn't already have it. And, that mindset must come in the form of a burning like desire which will allow you to take the very first step to success. The right mindset isn't the only thing required though...it's just one of the major ingredients.

The question is, do people know what the other ingredients are? Not many people do, including those who are users of BetterNetworker, YET.
