I'm realizing that if I want to get notifications of replies that were made to a post I made, I need to choose that option, it doesn't happen automatically. This was automatic before, wish it was that way still. I missed replies to a few posts I made but didn't realize it until now.

You can change this as a default option for your forum settings.

Click "user control panel" at the top of the forums
click "board preferences"
click "edit posting defaults"
change "notify me upon new replies by default" to yes.
