What Value Is There In Better Networker?

Postby Greg Martin on Thu May 17, 2012 2:06 am

Been a long while since I posted but I just have a few questions to ask.

1. Is there any SEO value in posting in the BN forum or posting articles. There are other resources out there for posting your content that talk about (boast actually) the SEO value of the content you post because you are posting on their site. Can someone give me some indication of the value here? Is there any SEO value here on BN?

2. Lead generation... the last time I posted here there were no autoresponder functions but I see there is now. Who's getting leads and do you know what type of content you are writing that is giving you those leads?

3. Is BN worth the monthly fee? Just after some personal feedback on the degree of value you personally get from your subscription.

Cheers BNers...

1.) As far as SEO is concerned, you do get one backlink to your blog or wherever you want. This helps, but one backlink isn't going to get you ranked anywhere. However, Google loves the BN, so you can do SEO to a BN article and get it ranked fairly easy (i've personally never done this though).

2.) If you're an ABN member, then you get the leads on all of the articles you write. If you're getting ranked in Google, this could be very valuable to you and you could potentially generate a lot of targetted leads doing this.

3.) That depends. If you're going to be on it for 1 or 2 days a month, probably not. But if you're going to be integrating the BN with your entire online marketing strategy, and this is a real focus for your business, then heck yeah, definetely worth the money.

I personally don't have the time right now to focus on SEO because of other things I have going on, however I will be joining the ABN in June and I plan on making this a real part of my marketing because it is a very powerful tool, if used correctly.

Great question Greg

Obviously Im biased as an instructor, but the truth is BetterNetworker has been very good to me.

Let me give a recent example of what can be done here...

I started a post in the forum on Tuesday at about 3:30 in the afternoon.
http://www.betternetworker.com/forums/m ... ml#p137812

Within minutes it was indexed
By morning it was #1 for the phrase "are you marketing offline"
(both with personalization off and not logged in + behind hidemyass proxy)

That phrase has 147,000,000 results | 782 true rank

I didnt do any seo other than the title and some body focus combined with what I know of how Google indexes BN.

Thats just one example.
I have articles here, which is the huge benefit now that BN requires membership to post in the content sections (i.e. articles, video, blog, podcast), content that combined with my other efforts has stood the test of time over the last 2 years to control multiple first page listings from low hanging fruit to highly competitive phrases.

As Landon pointed out, it depends on your overall strategic marketing plan.
For me of course, even more so now being focused on building a network marketing organization, BN is a given to include in our plan.

Ray Higdon mentioned something on his call last night that rings very true...
Organizations such as Better Networker and MLSP have something to offer marketers that most overlook, and that's exposure.

This has been a key piece in my relationship with BN. I made my mark, Mike took notice and made me an instructor. You cant buy that. Its not in a course or in a box. It simply comes from work, hard work and lots of it. But that work pays off. Just as it has for Ray and many others.

So there are a lot of benefits to being an ABN member that aren't listed in bullet points on a sales letter that the majority of people just don't think about. And Im glad it works that way. It forces the cream to rise to the top. Not in an elitist way, rather it forces people to think for themselves, forces them to grow and see value in something that they must learn to see, instead of being spoon fed a set of instructions.

Ultimately that experience leads to group of entrepreneurs and professionals going into the market place and transferring that knowledge and mindset on to others... And thats a great thing.

Cheers
~Richard

Thanks Landon and Richard, great replies.

The real thing I wanted to get out of this was the SEO value, not so much from having a link point back from the BN to your blog, but in posting your content on here to get it to rank in the SERPs.

There are so many other places that you can post content apart from a personal blog, some free and others you pay for, so I was mainly concerned about using this site to create articles (Posting on Purpose for Profit - thanks Rob Fore) that rank in the SERP's

So my assumption is that because of the good PR value of BN that you can create content targeting certain keywords, post it, and do some "post penguin" off page SEO to get the article to rank. Then you have your optin form on the right to capture leads.

I also assume that because of the PR of BN that you are in some ways better off posting to BN as well as your blog (spun of course) because your BN article would rank faster than your own blog.

Correct?

That is a great question Greg!

Richard is absolutely correct. Much of the value of the site escapes many of our members.

I monitor our analytics nearly every day and it always amazes me how quickly content on the site gets ranked for competitive terms.

Anyway... Here's a link to a playlist from our YouTube Channel that we just created with 17 of our members sharing their thoughts about the value of BetterNetworker.com

I have to agree with Landon. Google loves Better Networker. I once posted a podcast and literally in less than a few hours it was the first position in Google for that keyword. I have also had people recruit to my business as well as a result.

I remember seeing you in the past and its good to see you again!

Thanks Michael. Yeah well I am just weighing things up for now. I am about to launch a new replicating system, that has been on the design table for about 5 months now, to build a team with locally and if it works well I will be looking to do more with it online. Quality articles on good SEO sites would be on the cards and BN seems like the right place.

Cheers...

Well, Gregg, you have to be involved in the BN to find out what works for you.
Get involved, participate and get active in the comments and discussions and you can learn alot about being a member in the BN.
Richard pointed some very good things to be on the BN. I don't have to repeat them, but I concur!
