Its ok Willie, I know its easy to get sucked in when you want to defend what you're doing.

For the record...
I made my investment back from my PPL membership the first time I used it.
It would have cost be 10x more in legal fees had I not had it.
My membership lapsed but Im also looking at adding it again myself under the new branding.

New to the community but have been building in network marketing offline full time for the last 6 years. Most success for me has come from 2 key areas:

1. Prospecting as you go - build rapport, find their pain, find out if they are "open to other options to making money if it doesn't interfere with what they're currently doing"

2. Add value - when you go to different organizations, like toastmasters, business groups, meet up groups or even on FB, the most effective way that I've found to market my business is NOT marketing my business but instead, adding value to the other person and the organization. If we position ourselves as the solution to their problems or an expert in the area of something, we will be the first person that they think about when they want a solution to their pain.

It's melding online and offline Marketing that all successful companies and hbb do nowadays. Our "Team United" make sure we have three points of contact (forester research), Social Media, Phone, and email, and the percentages of a good prospect buying what you have to offer (if it's any good, and not so yesterday), go way way up.

If you don't know who "Forester Research" is, they are one of the largest Research Co's in the USA that focuses on research. :D

We've developed a simple formula for our team called the MLM L.I.F.E. Formula™

Lead
Invite
Follow-Up
Enroll

Lead by example. Lead with your story. Lead with interest in your prospects needs.

Invite ... its super simple and anyone can do it. No tech skills required, you dont have to be extraordinary, beautiful or handsome or know everything about anything. You just have to be willing to invite someone to look at what you're doing.

Follow-up ... they say the money is in the follow-up and its absolutely true.
We've put so much into automation, the presentation, pre selling, qualifying, etc. But at the end of the day, those that take the initiative and follow-up win.

Enroll ... You have to ask for the sale. If you dont learn how to move product you wont make any money. Doesnt matter if you're in mlm, affiliate marketing, attraction marketing, what ever, give it a name. The game is sales and sales need to be made or you have no business. The cool thing is, when you have all those elements in place the enrolling part should be the most natural thing that occurs.

This entire process can be implemented and applied to any form of offline marketing.
Postcards, newspapers, classifieds, posters, business cards, flyers, meetings, parties, you name it.

Apply these elements to your marketing strategy and you'll find success ...
It truly is the LIFE of your business.

Sounds exactly what our "Team United" says Richard. :D Comes down to opportunity and product after that, i.e. does the prospect see themselves selling what you have to offer? Yes, no, maybe? Again, all successful teams use the same formula, but how unique is the opportunity and product within the context of the Network Marketing industry. E.G.

1. Market penetration and saturation (i.e. basic market research)

2. Competition with the Company itself (how many sales reps or distributors does the Co already have now and is there still momentum still going on)

3. How much competition outside of the Company you are selling for, and how many Companies (1, 10, 100's already in the game?) and are selling pretty much the same stuff within the specific category in question? 10k, 100K, millions of distributors or Independent Reps?

3. Is the media trending it - on the internet and off - and helping the Co. with millions in free press and advertising. Healthy eating for example and Mrs. Obama promoting it as her major platform along with many major sports teams.

4. Is there a vast subconscious negative attached or associated with the product category within a specific industry, Network Marketing, (extremely hard to gain momentum and overcome, and gain traction even for the best in the industry)

5. Is it another "me too" company with just slightly different products/services, and/or ingredients?

7. How many different ways can the product or products themselves be marketed? E.G. through fundraisers, stores, vending machines, restaurants, or some other vehicle for getting the word out on the products if nothing else.

8. Can the product or products stand on their own even if someone just wanted to buy them?

9. Is the Company, or product in a category by itself? i.e. category creator within the Industry of Network Marketing and unique with tons of momentum behind it with media coverage, and being first in it's class so to speak? Big advantage, and if anybody tells you otherwise, they are lying to you.

10. So with that I leave you with a few quotes for thought:
10a. "It’s Better To Be First Than It Is To Be Best."

I sure wish I could take credit for that brilliant quote, but I can’t. It comes from Al Ries and Jack Trout, authors of several popular marketing books.

10b. "Timing is everything." - Bobby Fischer Former World Chess Champion (In this case, market timing)

10c. "It's just Snacks!" - Christina Hodge (Team United)

I wish I could take credit for that brilliant statement too, because it's so true, and so simple most overlook it, but kids don't, because they see what most adults don't; the obvious, not what they think is best.

I speak with tons of people every week here in Los Angeles where I live, and not one has asked me if the healthy snacks biz was one of those MLM/Networking/Pyramid things. Yes, they say, "...things." 8-) Chaio. HF

That's what network marketing is all about isn't it, Richard?
Leading by example - using your own products.
Invite - I love the fact that the tools are in play that you don't have to do one single presentation - ever !
Follow up - Make the time ! It's easy to slip out of the followup process.
Enroll - I also love the fact you don't sugar coat the sales aspect of MLM. We ARE in sales but it doesn't have to be difficult or hard or scary - we can ALL invite.

L I F E - making mine better !
