you content doesn't have to be that different to not be called duplicate content. Google especially frowns on identical titles, so main stuff like titles, tags, headings and at least one sentence per paragraph needs to be different. Sometimes also doing an abbreviated version in one place a fuller version in another. It is also not considered duplicate if you have an article in one place and a video in another, hope that helps.

There's a reason so many marketers use Google as the core of their marketing strategy lol. Some traffic from the big G can change your life. But you're right, it's still no solo ad

Re: What Exactly IS Duplicate Content?
I hear the phrase "duplicate content" thrown around so much I don't even pay it that much attention. There are a lot of examples of duplicate content but I don't believe there's a duplicate content penalty. Think about it, you write an article and submit it to ezinearticles.com. Anyone has the right to get that exact same article and put it on their site as long as they abide by the TOS of ezinearticles.com. That would be an example of duplicate content but not something that Google would penalize you for. From what I've read the best practice is to always link back to where that piece of content originated from. So if you publish a blog post and then get that same content and put it on ezinearticles.com, just link back to the blog post if at all possible, then of course google will compare the two pieces of content and see that that content on your blog was indexed first. As long as you don't have the same piece of content in two different places on your site your fine.
