yep, the title just about says it all.

I spend most of my free time on the internet, checking my email constantly to see who has joined my businesses, looking for new ways to promote my business, and basically wasting time flicking around from one thing to another.

I really need to break this habit, on weekends I can spend up to 10 hours a day on the net, and I feel like I need to get back to 'real life' more and start to enjoy the things that I have worked so hard for. but... it is so hard, I get a rush every time someone new joins me, or even just requests more information about my products, I am seriously addicted.

Anyone else find themselves in this predicament? If so, how do you deal with it? I am thinking that I am going to have to add some real structure to my days, and stick to it........

Okay, I'll fess up. I TOO AM A NERD", remember that line from the movie, the Nerds?

A few years ago I barely knew how to send email and I was on "DIAL UP."

In 2006, I got a new, faster computer and high speed internet had just begin to hit the market.

Fast forward a few years, I have learned how to set up a WP blog, hyper link, I'm on Facebook, I participate in forums, what's not addicting about any of that?

But seriously, I have found myself "WASTING" tons of time online.

I have found that I sometimes have to force myself to not turn on my computer, especially in the evening/nights.

I seem to sleep better.

I think it may be because of not having the light illuminating from my computer screen.

whew, glad to hear I am not the only one. Yes, I know what you mean about internet getting faster and technology getting better, just makes it worse, and harder to drag myself away from the screen, lol.
Seriously, starting today, I am going to structure some physical exercise into my day, as I hardly seem to move these days, and find my bones and joints seem to seize up from sitting in front of the computer for long periods.
Will check back in tonight and report how I went

well, I think it is going to be baby steps for me, I went for a 15 minute walk yesterday afternoon, and was so puffed that I shocked myself at how unfit I am.
I am aiming for 3 walks a week, will try to do 20 minutes tomorrow, and gradually increase each time.

Hi Angela,

I sometimes find myself losing track reading emails and flicking through facebook. I highly recommend that you read "the 4 hour work week" by Timothy Ferriss. It has great tips to help you focus on your business as well as giving yourself time to fluff on email and other things.

Own your business doesn't mean that you have to run it 24/7/365

I was actually worse - I took my phone around with me everywhere and always checked my email, my Facebook, my autoresponders, my Google Analytics on my phone everywhere I went. It was BAD.

I had to really redefine my lifestyle and really shift my focus in order to actually enjoy my life without having to think business all the time. I'm slowly toning it down though. Outsourcing has helped a lot. I actually now have a little bit more time to my family and friends.

But sometimes I just cant help doing even just a little bit of work. It's in my system.

When I first, really first started, it took me all day to start my computer with a Commodore 64 computer. From sun up until sun down, I was on the computer. I got tired of seeing the sun rising and falling several times all while I never left the house. I even took closet vacations. On the computer the whole time while on vacation from my job. I learned then that this is no life at all.
Present day forward, I spend about an hour on the computer at a time. Relax, take a break, spin time with the family and just live a little off the computer. Now the android is available to carry with me to check on the business.
You can break your addiction! Find out how the other 97% of people not on the computer are doing. Learn what they are doing and provide a service to them. You might just like it. You can get a life! Enjoy it!

The only way out of that mess is to find out Who you really are...and who you really want to be and what you really want to do...in order to accomplish what you want to have.

If you are really clear about those things...you will save lots of money and time...

I knew ti...and I forget about it... and cost lots of money and lots of time. Please do not make the same mistake I made.
