The first atempt was Herbalife ofline. No money or marketing plan to make it work at that time.
The other was some now gone so called auto sort of refferal online program. That lead me to Magnetic Sponsoring and then I dropped that opportunity for good.

Re: How were you first introduced to Network Marketing?
I was invited to a PBR (Private Business Reception) that my brother-in-law was going to host. I really liked the company and I thought they had a unique product as well, the only problem was at the end of the PBR there wasn't a call to action, it was like the PBR was over and it was now time to go our own separate ways. I later joined the company but through another person.

This system of MLM's came to me 3 times in the form of my primary business..The first time was a famous singer friend of mine and she had a few r&b hits and at the time she introduced this to me she had the number gospel song in the country. The second was an APOSTLE I was coaching to attain multiple streams of income and the third was my son..I trusted the others but when my son told me, i decided to give it a shot..I thank GOD HE gave me so many chances to open the door to this lifestyle..IT IS AMAZING
Now I focus on paying it forward

My first exposure to network marketing occurred when I responded to a Los Angeles Times newspaper ad in 1990, and accompanied my husband to an old HOM meeting in Westwood, CA so he could get a job there. The business was then called "Total Health Care," run by John and Laurie Tartol.

Hi Jayne,
I was first introduced to the idea of Tupperware's party plan decades ago. The business model did not appeal to me then! Later, I was approached by others from Amways and a telecommunicating company. I joined simp0ly to 'support my friends' and became a casual user.
It was until around 8 years ago that I bumped into another Network Masrketing company because of one of my daughter's health challenges. The naturopath that she consulted introduced us to superior nutritional supplements!
I absolutely agree with you that Network Marketing is a great platform for creating an additional stream of income for an average person!

How Were You Introduced to MLM?
Just out of curiosity, I was wondering how most folks on here where first introduced to MLM? Here's what my first experience was like.
I was first introduced to network marketing while waiting tables back in college. There were a couple of guys that used to rent out banquet room for free from time to time to pitch their company to small groups of 8 - 10 people. Naturally being a waiter at the time, all I really was concerned about was the tips and they were horrible tippers. Groups of 8 - 10 people never left more than a couple bucks after being waited on for a period of 2 - 3 hours. Needless to say it was a pretty bad first impression of the industry since I incorrectly made an incorrect judgement about the entire industry just based two people. It made me immediately discount anyone that said they would involved mult-level marketing thinking that they were cheap and not legit.
Later obviously, I had the opportunity to get reintroduced to MLM and got a better idea what the business model was really all about.
I'm wondering how others were first introduced to MLM? Was your first experience positive or negative?

Re: How Were You Introduced to MLM?
Hi Brett, I can't really remember when I was first introduced to MLM. I started with direct selling in High School as a "Fuller Brush" man and I still remember the slogan I said when someone answered their door. Then in college I sold Tupperware and it was a downline system. Later in my early 20's I got involved in an "Airplane". That was a true pyramid scheme and I didn't make any money off it although I got a couple friends to join me. I think my first real introduction was when my brother invited me to an Amway meeting. Everyone there was dressed in suites and ties. Since I knew about a dozen people and especially my brother I knew he didn't wear ties and neither did the others. What really bugged me is no one would tell me what it was about until the meeting. Kind of like the mysterious Attraction Marketers of today's MLM. It was like they were afraid to tell me. I was turned off by the fake dress code and the mystery of the program. Dressing nice is a great thing but I think it was all the Polyesther coats and my brothers green suite with white platform shoes that really got to me.

About 7 years ago I took my first real dive into MLM with a Travel company and also Affiliate Marketing, to be honest I had a blast. I've been hooked since then.
