That is such an interesting story. I have never heard that before. I will make sure I read the fine print of company that I decide to join.

You all mentioned knowing of just one company that has good practice and procedures. Care to share that with me one-on-one?

This is a tough experience to go through. Definitely an opportunity for forgiveness here. I have heard of this legal underhandedness before and sincerely advise people to examine the Policy and Procedures as part of their due diligence when evaluating an opportunity. Tip - If the P & P is a really lengthy document then stay away.

I agree with Mike, best to build your YOU Inc. and stand on your own integrity while bringing value to all you connect with.

Peace to all,

Tony

Great Post Marcello!

I don't blame people that don't read the Policies & Procedures because I didn't read them before either. However i Know now what to do before invest my time and money in an opportunity.

A lot of people just get to exited when they see people showing money, new cars, new homes etc etc...but never research in detail the company.

Thanks for your post,

Danny Chiquito

Hi Marcello,

Thanks for sharing that and making it clear that ANY reason can mean even the most ridiculous one. I hate to believe that companies will be so mercenary and cut off their best assets that way but hopefully in the end they will be the losers.

Once your friends' downline realise what has been done to her how much faith will they have in the company and how much of their cash will they be prepared to risk?

Even if she was made to sign a no slander waver her people will realise that she didn't leave out of choice when she was doing so well and they will be suspicious of the company to say the least. Ugghh they deserve to shrivel!

Hello to all,

I'm willing to bet very few people take the time to read the Policies & Procedures of most Network Marketing companies that one might join up with. And even if they do most don't even understand it anyway.

Believe me when I say this...The longer the Policies and Procedures usually means that the company your looking at is not in "your" best interest!

Like Danny said in his post people get excited when seeing the big money get rich quick (Hyped up) web sites that a lot of Network Marketing companies seem to have and "think" they need at their corporate home sites to bring people in.

This mode of thinking by these companies does nothing more than just keep giving Network Marketing more black eyes!

A good company won't even have such crap displayed on their corporate site. Why? Because they don't have to!

Its all about education. If we all want to win at what we do in Network Marketing we must all take responsibility and get educated and teach other's what we learn.

But before we can go out into the world to teach, we must know what we are talking about to begin with.

Put your emotion on the shelf for now and look at your company as a business. A real business in the real world! Make sure you read the policies and Procedures. Not just skim over them but actually read them and make sure you understand them.

If you don't understand them come here at this community and ask questions. Learn for yourself and than go out and teach other's what you learned!

Its the only way we are going to help our industry in the long run. And believe me, it needs help!

It has more black eyes than any other business model out there...Its no suprise to me why that is.

Hype, hype, and more hype and lots of greedy people that could care less who they harm!

I say this, through education, lets throw the bast**** (companies) out onto the curb where they belong so the garbage truck can get rid of them!

I for one have had enough of all the wrong this industry has (bad companies) and am willing to do something about it!

Who's with me?

To Your Success,

Larry B.

Hello to all...

Was just over at myspace on one of the business forums. Good lord! For any of you newbe's out there and even some of you that have been around awhile, I ran accross this pitch.

For you newbe's out there, if you want to see what you don't want to do to build your home business just check out myspace and the business forums...

Anyway, just ran accross this one so I clicked on terms of conditions (policies and procedures)

You will notice I left out what so called legit company this is...I underlined the things to watch out for.

Your $29 product package/membership purchase includes a Software package with full resale rights, software package, personalized website and hosting. Due to the immediate delivery and accessibility of the products, all fees associated with the ***********.com Membership are non-refundable. There are NO Refunds. If you cannot afford $29.00, then please don't purchase the package.

The purchase will appear on your statement as *** Enterprises. Please make a note of this so you will recognize it when your statement arrives!

No guarantees are made with respect to income. You may choose to resell this membership/product packages and earn $20.00 per sale.

We have a ZERO SPAM policy. The use of SPAM to generate sales is strictly prohibited. Any member deemed to be spamming will be terminated immediately. No refunds will be issued. All evidence gathered will be turned over to the proper authorities, including PayPal, their Internet Service Provider, and possibly others. This may result in any of the following to the offending member: Termination of their *********** Account (no refunds!) Termination of their PayPal Account (and loss of all funds within) Termination of their E-Mail / Internet Account Possibility of class-action lawsuits (spam is illegal in some states). Under no circumstances may you include your ************ URL or the ************.com name in any e-mail unless the person has requested the information from you.

***********.com reserves the right to E-Mail all of our members with updates and notices about our program at any time. Your membership includes a subscription to the acclaimed "******************" Ezine. Look for the Ezine in your inbox every Monday.
************.com reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions, without notice to our members, at any time. ***********.com reserves the right to discontinue our service, with ample notification to all members, at any time. ***********.com reserves the right to terminate the website of any member deemed to be participating in negative activity which is considered detrimental to the program and it's general membership. Your E-Mail Address and other personal information will never be shared or sold to anyone.

In other words...This so called legit company can simply do what ever they want at any time they want for what ever reason they want to use against "YOU".

Their product is a hosted web site (of course they will host it for you, they want your money every month) and they also throw in some worthless software package that most people will never even use or need and pass it off as some product to make it legit!

If your wondering where the founders make their profit (you know, whats in it for them) out of every sucker that joins they charge a nine dollar fee for the set up to get you going in their wonderful so-called legit online business.

Once again...Would anyone in their right mind buy these software products without a business attached to it with the intent of earning money from it as a business? I sure as H*** wouldn't! But hey, thats just me. Maybe I don't know what the H*** I'm talking about. Then again, maybe I do.

And one last thought...There policies and procedures is one of the shortest ones I have ever seen. Bottom line, long or short, think long and hard on what they say! Your future reputation is at stake!

I hope this helps someone out there.

To Your Success,

Larry B.

Reading all the responses I have to agree with "You Inc" as the first line of defense. I have not seen anyone question the integrity or "lack of" integrity. Protecting MLM companies from unethical representatives business practices are done by writing such a broad Policies and Procedures. Most companies operating with ethics and high level of integrity would overlook this situation.

Companies that use their policies to benefit their bottom line don't last! We the "Independent Distributors" are the backbone of our companies. I have never been a fan of comp plans that don't reward me for what I started, a good management team will understand their members and go the extra mile to make sure they are compensated for their actions.

Get to know your company and it's management team, your future might depend on it!

You Inc... Is you and how, what and where you promote yourself online and off. Learn to 'brand' You Inc.

Regardless of whether you have a job or how great your online company... the unexpected will happen and while the blame game sooth's your feelings if you have created a group of people who know you, like you and trust you they will follow you to the next stop as will their group. Multiple income streams make a difference in your security.

Many people do not read the personnel handbook when they take their first through a dozen jobs. Why would you read the fine print in your network associate contract? Often we 'assume' things that are not true or in the beginning we believe it will never apply to us. The 'moral turpitude' clauses as well as not allowing you to participate in more than one business should give people pause before joining any organization. Ultimately you are in charge of YOU, INC and the sooner you go to work to insure You, Inc will weather every storm the sooner personal freedom becomes an addicting experience. PS. Human Being is a survival machine at it's core.
