Agreed, it almost reads like a textbook... was it a textbook at one point?

If you're relatively new to copywriting, I would recommend AWAI's "Accelerated Program for 6-Figure Copywriting." AWAI has a lot of other resources on their website as well. www.awaionline.com

BTW, I posted this same message a while ago, but it never appeared in the forum. I'm thinking it was because I included AWAI's URL. It was not an affiliate link, but it may have looked like one. Just google AWAI.

Re: Copywriting books , Resources
Ok, since I last posted here I have come across another resource which I think is fantastic.
It's a 13 page Free eBook called:
The One-Sentence Persuasion Course
27 Words to Make the World Do Your Bidding
By Blair Warren
You can download it for free from his website. Also, Joe Vitale reprints the entire report at the end of his book "Buying trances".

Re: Copywriting books , Resources
Without a doubt the greatest way to write copy is to understand the "why" in people. The best book I have ever read on a subject that will help you write better is "Waiting for your cat to bark" written by Brian Eisenberg.
Most people who go to write just start writing not considering who they are writing to defined not by the demographics but the psychographics (the way people think, act, talk, and respond). Understanding this will help you greatly. What we do is build character profiles and then write towards them.
A great example is Best Buy. They have a character called "Jane" and all their marketing and sales will sell to Jane. Everything written or designed is to appeal to "Jane".

Re: Copywriting books , Resources
It is a good start for learning copywrite by compiling a list of resources. However, I can locate many copy writing tips and information almost in everywhere: e-mail, internet advertisement, articles, and newpapers. I write it on the index card when I see something special. I digest why the words or phases are used.
The best method to master the copywrite is to write the articles as often as you can. I ask my friends, family members to edit for me.I don't hestitate to ask my kids' advises either. I make my determination to learn the mistakes that they point out.

Re: Copywriting books , Resources
Dear Fellow Entrepreneur,
If You Had The Chance to Learn Golf From Tiger Woods, for Free, Would You Take It?
Who wouldn't!
Well, I can't get you free golfing lessons from Tiger but, if you're a marketer and you want more customers, this is the next best thing and, it won't cost you a buffalo nickel.
If you're a business owner, internet marketer, copywriter, network marketer, or you're responsible for the marketing or sales activities of your (or someone else's) business, no matter what size business it is, then this short post is for you...
Now, you can pick the brain of the man whom many call the greatest marketing mind alive...and he's got the big numbers to prove it.
If we're being honest with each other, I think we can admit that at one point or another we've all wasted a lot of time writing copy that we thought was great, only to find out that when the rubber hits the road, it doesn't convert into new customers or leads, nearly as well as we had hoped.
Been there myself and quite frankly, it stinks.
After all, writing solid, sales-producing copy that puts money in your pocket--whether for an email campaign, landing page, blog post, internet sales page, or direct mail--is not nearly as easy as it looks. On the other hand, it doesn't have to be a painful, gut-wrenching task either. When you know a few little tricks of the trade, you'd be surprised at the positive results even a total newbie can achieve.
And yet, with some basic knowledge from a legendary direct-response copywriter, you can easily write a compelling sales letter, landing page or email campaign that attracts customers to your business in droves.
Well, that legend is Clayton Makepeace, and his ezine, The Total Package, has helped me and tens of thousands of others quickly go from clueless amateurs to reputable marketing pros in a very short period.
Best of all, tons of Clayton's 30-plus years of knowledge and experience is available to you absolutely free when you sign up for The Total Package ezine newsletter. No strings, no memberships, nothing to buy, 100% FREE.
Why do I say all this? Well for me, reading The Total Package ezine on a regular basis has given me the knowledge to be a finalist (its between me and one other guy now) for a $70k a year job as a copywriter in the marketing department of a $400 million technology company, as we speak! (I'll let you know if I get the job).
For his clients, Clayton has generated sales copy that has produced over $1 Billion in sales over his 30-year career. Only a few marketers today can say they've achieved this level of success. And most of them don't give away their secrets. Well here's a secret for you, Clayton does.
So, I just want to share with you something that has helped my copywriting and marketing skills in a major (and profitable) way. I think it will help you too. Actually, I know it will.
I can also tell you that I've paid for stuff that wasn't a tenth of what you get from Clayton Makepeace's ezine. And I'll bet you have too. It's like getting a behind the scenes tour of a legendary copywriting & marketing master at work, daily.
As if that weren't enough...
He also gives you these four in-depth marketing reports (he personally wrote them, not some lame affiliate filler content), which could easily sell for $37-$47 each, as a bonus for signing up:
-Why Your Advertising Never Makes Money
-The Eight Components of Irresistible Direct Response Offers
-How to Decide Where to Advertise
-How to Write Killer Ads and Compelling Sales Copy
The bottom line is this: if you wanted to learn how to be a better golfer and Tiger Woods was offering free advice, would you take it? Of course you would. I know I would. Well, if you're a marketer and Clayton Makepeace is offering you free advice, you'd better take it. You'll be all the better for it.
To get your four bonus ebooks, I've given you the link (no, it's not an affiliate link) below. Do it now before he decides to start charging for this goldmine of marketing advice!
