No kidding. I got a call from one of those companies and couldn't hang up the phone fast enough.

Yes, we discussed Passion Parties and related companies earlier in the thread.

I don't see anything wrong with such companies. There's a huge difference between pornography and a sex toy party plan business. Passion Parties is a brilliant concept and I say more power to 'em.

Cheers!

I will probably get lynched for saying this but I can not help myself... This thread really needs to die but I have to put my 2 cents in. First off I am not associated with an adult company but I have a serious issue when it comes to someones right to participate on this board. Our community is about networking and education... I understand that this is a touchy subject, like abortion, politics or religion. Americans are diverse and have diverse interests...

Regardless if you approve or disapprove of Pornography it is not for you to say that someone who wants to promote passion parties or what ever the company is (which adult toys are not porn) can not come into BN and learn how to promote their business or learn how SEO or PPC works or how to market to their TARGET market. If Porn offends you then don't watch it, if the thought of helping couples spice up their love life embarrasses or sickens you then do not participate or promote it...

If the the owners of the that business are abusing the policies laid down by "Carl The Cop" and spamming offensive messages then by all means oust them post haste but if they are just like the rest of us and looking to network and learn then they should be allowed to stay regardless of your personal feelings on their product or service.

Now lets get back to work promoting ourselves and our own opportunities that we are passionate about so that we can live in which ever lifestyle we wish....

These folks have a right to make money any way that is legal. They can do it in places where people like those sort of activities of activities.

I have a problem with folks that make money on the misery of others. Pornography harms all that touch it.

Better Networker Is a quality site for professional marketers and is to a great degree a family business and should be treated as such.

When you get a headline that says get rich with pornography, you don't have to touch it or see it just make money on it. And those that are presenting it are too ashamed to show their faces, just seems slimy.

I understand how you feel Elwood, however our personal feelings about pornography are not the issue and nor am I going to debate them in this forum... I am just trying to point out that everyone has a right to benefit from BN as long as they follow the rules.

Besides BN is not Disneyland... it's a community of business owners and entrepreneurs freely exchanging information and ideas so that we may grow successful businesses. Not allowing one type of business because you don't like their product or service is discrimination and that is definitely not what we are about.

It's a hot topic and certainly one that deserves attention and discussion in the appropriate place...

Respectfully,
Erik

I have not see the Guestbook entries (I think that is where the pornographic MLM stuff appeared) so I cannot comment on that material specifically.

I do agree with Erik that, provided one follows the rules and guidelines set forth by BetterNetworker, we should strive to separate our religious or moral beliefs from a member's right to participate fully in all that this site has to offer.

Particularly when it comes to Passion Parties and similar "party plan, sex toy" companies, I really have a hard time lumping them in with "pornography" and judging that they are somehow immoral or illegitimate.

I would argue that such accusations are based on one's own religious or moral views, unrelated to what is legal and permitted within our (largely) free enterprise economic system.

On a more personal level, I regard opposition to such companies as puritanical and prudish.

All the Best,

Mark

I had to look up who Jenna Jameson is. I know, that's another among many of my online writings that easily dates me.

If you are referring to Passion Parties or similar "party plan sex toy" companies, since 80 to 90% (I'm guessing) of the distributors are heterosexual women (many of whom are married), I suspect that they would be more enticed by a week-long getaway in Fiji with their husband or boyfriend. ;)

Alright gang, time to play nice!

Here are the posted rules:
http://www.betternetworker.com/page/bet ... guidelines

Porn is very much offensive material and as such, I (and Mr. Police Stick) have made the executive decision to disallow them on this Rated PG site. Just like you wouldn't want to see nudity, violence, or offensive material in a PG movie, you wouldn't want to see that here on this site.

That doesn't mean they can't exist (heck, one of my favorite movies is Braveheart), they just can't exist HERE.

Wow! I guess with any network this large, some things slip through the cracks. I for one believe that we all to have make the choice on how we are going to make the money.

I think in order to keep this site as a legitimate mecca for network marketers, the general rule should be: the less porn, the better.

Just my humble opinion.

Firstly, I'm actually a little uncomfortable about the appearance of a porn MLMs, although I am not necessarily surprised. I definitely don't feel that BN is a place I would want to see overrun with the stuff, that said...

I think it would shock some people to realise that if they are building an online business, then they actually owe a debt of gratitude to the porn industry. Many of the eCommerce solutions, sales and marketing techniques, and other technologies have been driven, and funded, by the mega-bucks porn business.

On a more general note, personal computer technology has been driven to a great extent by porn and computer games.

Oh and the Internet came about due to a need that arose with the US military. So yeah, it's not something we neccessarily want, but games, porn and bombs are actually part of our heritage.
