Don't Let The News Suck you Down...

Postby Marty Baker on Tue Nov 25, 2008 1:19 pm

If you want to go down in Quicksand mentally Watch The News. If you want to be sucked down by a whirlpool of FEAR watch The News. If you want to be convinced this is a world of Scarcity Watch The News. Well I don't want any of those things. But I do want to stay informed about what’s going on in the world.

This is how I stay Positive, when all is Falling apart around the World.

There are two Circles in your life one is the Circle of Concern, which you have no control over, so don't waste anytime there. The second one is the circle of influence, This is the one that you do control, will you paint a picture of abundance or Scarcity. Your decision will affect the way your Business Grows, so choose wisely.

Re: Fox News Sucks...

Thank God I do not watch news since I was 20. I believe that when there is something in the world I need to know, someone will tell me. I know that there are only three things people talk about when i ask "How Are You Doing?"

As soon as I shut up, people tell me within 3 minutes all their pain, bad luck stories or any othe complains. Therefore I do not need to watch news. Maybe if there will be good news channels I would watch, but mostly its fear.

I stay away from the news too.

If I want to know what's "going on" out there, I tend to either listen to NPR or go to their website (NPR.org) and surf around for the recent world news.

Main-station news stations are exactly as you described. Ew!!

Thanks for the post,

I'm usually a lurker, but I had to respond. I agree that all news can be depressing and stressing. However, I think Fox gets the short end of the stick. They are actually the least bias out of all the networks. I guess I have gotten tired of all the Fox bashing. I'll go back into my cave now.

Indeed, you can add all TV News with this great acronym: CNN = Constant Negative News!

Have you all noticed that on every station it's always "Breaking News" Even though they have been talking about the same subject for over a week. I find that very funny.
Who would like to turn a $325 investment into $15,000 every 3 weeks...I guess the real question is who wouldn't?

There has never been a more blatant display of one-sided news as in this last election. They even ran numbers showing the number of daily stories about the one candidate over the other. It is just so unbelievable how they were in the tank for the one candidate.

Wow! And just the other day I saw how Oprah now wants to have Gov. Palin on her show when she would not give her the time of day when she was a VP candidate....

The news is supposed to be just that...news. When the news stories become so one-sided I don't think you can consider that news any more....it is just reporting on your favorite topic with your favorable point of view.

Fox News tries to be fair and balanced by showing both sides of an issue. But as someone mentioned, I am tired of everything being "Breaking News." No it isn't...the story has already been on twelve times in one day....

The news can be depressing. I once heard someone say that you don't need to watch it because all it does is feed you negativity and does nothing for positive thinking. If you fill your head up with all the junk that is going on in the world, where does that get you? Nowhere.

"fox news sucks..." ---Ehhhhh WRONG...how about the liberal media sucks-- I agree with Hannity, journalism is dead.......this election proved that, they were practically in bed with Obama... the grand Messiah-NOT

I would agree that conservatism has definitely weakened, but I believe this election will bring the Republicans back around to being strong conservatives once again- our unborn have the right to it, our Christian faith depends on it, our country's freedom thrives on it, our economy struggles for it......take notice that when the democrats seized the house, senate and congress that our economy began to fail...not President Bush though I don't agree with everything he's done....hey be thankful this Thanksgiving that at least he's kept you safe from another 9-11 attack

I totally agree with traceyhausel on this one, all the news channels were all a little bit too obvious in their biased reporting accept Fox news. Fox did show all sides at least.
