I am setting up my blog on wordpress, but I ran into a problem with posting photos.

I am using the upload from computer function, but when looking at the page the photos do not not show up. Any suggestions on what the trouble might be? Can't find anything that seems to match my problem in the wordpress help-forums...

be sure you hit the insert into post option as a lot of times just uploading them they will be put into your library file and not into post

I have done that. The problem is, in the post no photo shows up - just the alternate name for the image.

I'm no WP expert so take this with a grain of salt...

But if you go into your dashboard and click "Settings"-- then click "miscellaneous" it does give you options for images.

Other than that I really don't think I could be much help.

Hello,
Make sure that your file format and file size is compatible with WordPress. Some formats like SWF are not uploads friendly and some files are so huge that simply can't display properly.

you might need to make sure your files and folders are 'Writable'.

you can do this easily w/ an ftp client like Filezilla. Just go to the folder, right click, and click on 'file/folder attributes'. then choose writable for all cases (at least temporarily to upload the image).

I had alot of issues altering my blogs because I needed to make the themes and/or folders/files all writable..

Oh, you know what Boel? I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier...

When you're composing your article, are you using the rich text editor or are you using the html editor?

If your image is showing up as a bunch of code, then you may need to switch over to the html tab on the editor.

If your images just aren't showing up after doing that, then I'm really not sure. You may actually have to put the enitre url of the image in there.

Instead of just "<img src="images/your_missing_pic.jpg">" you may need to have the entire "<img src="http://yoursite.com/images/your_missing_pic.jpg">"

Well, after much hassling... I finally got it to work. I deleted my current MySQL database and replaced it with a new one. It deleted everything I had done, but since I am just getting started with a blog, no big deal. I have been marketing online for 9 years, but never had a blog.

There must have been an easier solution... but at least everything IS working now.
