Re:The Future of Network Marketing
Very good. Actually put a "pit" in my stomach reading it because I know that I don't know it all and every time I think I'm "getting it", I realize there's always more to learn but wonder, "can I do that?"
Can we copy this and send it out to our lists with our MS and TF link in it?

Re:The Future of Network Marketing
Everything seems to be coming into fruition. Can't argue with anything that Mike wrote, but I would add one more key to success in 2008:
Developing a narrower and deeper target niche.
I think this may also be the next "frontier" for network marketers. Not only standing out in front of the crowd, but also developing a more unique "avatar" for your prospect.
Simply going after people looking to make money from home is now too broad of a target market. Alex Mendossian uses the Grand Canyon as a metaphor. It's narrow and a mile deep, which is what your target market should be.
It's also more important now than ever to make your business ALL about your prospect.
Great article...

Re:The Future of Network Marketing
Tim,
Mike's article really hit the nail on the head for the Network Marketing industry.
For the past few months I've become active in the blogging community, and it is a community, and I am just beginning to adapt and apply new skills required if you wish to be effective online in web 3.0.
It's all about providing useful, well-written content that people in your target niche will find useful and pass on to others.
Mike's tip about learning how to be a good story-teller is something we all need to take to heart.
Using rich media - video, podcasts, webinars - this is now becoming expected.
Knowing how to use social networking and bookmarking sites is essential.
The thing to keep in mind is that if you are not providing useful, honest, and "worthy" content these days, you will get "called on it" by others and, quite simply, get nowhere.
There are new important things that marketers need to know - linkbait, buzz marketing, PR ranking, RSS, creating satellite sites, and so on.
The bottom line is that as I said, I've spent the past few months focusing on blogging and social power linking and I've only reached the tip of the iceberg. And I've literally got tons of info to read up on and I have tons more coming in every day.
The good news is that I'm "getting it", albeit slowly. And I know that you guys do too.
And I know that MS and related products in the affiliate program will help network marketers so I look forward to getting my message out that I can help network marketers with internet strategies that work.
Thanks Mike, Tim, and everyone else.
Let's rock,
Mark

Re:The Future of Network Marketing
Karen,
I hear you about the "pit" in your stomach. I would say this though... don't sweat it ALL -- at once. Focus your efforts on one thing first. Develop it, get good at it, become a part of the "community" you choose to start with. For example, I am learning that the Digg community is just that. A group of people that are communicating together, posting in forums, IM'ing each other. You can't just jump in with both feet until you have had a chance to "get the feel" of the community. Kinda like we started out here.
To remain leaders on our niches, we are gonna have to work outside the box - so to speak. But if you try to blog, social bookmark, develop video, create a YouTube channel and build an audience, it's going to take a little time.
Baby steps. One step at a time. All those old "adages" we heard growing up.

Re:The Future of Network Marketing
Tim-
Read every word. Certainly going to grab some attention, big time.
I would really, really like to reply to this and say what I "think" and "know", but I am afraid that if I shared my thoughts and feelings about that message, it might create a shit storm (forgive my French) that might take us all out of production.
There are many things that I agree with that Mike said...but,
...uh, a few things I don't.
Pleading the 5th.

Tim,
I'd like to write about this article on my blog, but if I link to it, people will only be able to read it if they create a profile and login.
This is okay but will discourage most readers.
Any way around this?
Thanks,
Mark

Re:The Future of Network Marketing
Hey Todd,
I don't know if you remember, but we met several years back in San Diego at a convention. You performed some very interesting napkin folding tricks on a day cruise as I recall.
Anyway, I certainly value your opinion as a leader and I know Mike does as well. We'd love to hear your feedback if not in a public forum, certainly in a private message.
Cheers,
Tim
P.S. I'd like to add that if everyone here just said "yeah, I agree with what he said" this would be a pretty boring forum indeed! Controversy, alternative viewpoints and debates make things much more interesting. ;)

Thank you for the feed back everyone. This is honestly just the first part of 4-5 that I'll be writing between now and Christmas. Once it's done, I'll put it into a pdf for you which you can use as you wish.
