Power of Attraction...are you joking?

Postby Jim Ticehurst on Tue Feb 17, 2009 4:28 pm

I watched a You-Tube video this mormning from one of the 'Big Names'. Obviousy this was about "'How to Drive Traffic to my Site". I came off You-Tube and clicked on to the site. And then for over twenty minutes all that I was listening to was how I could 'Monetize' my site by recommending his site to others. What had originally 'attracted' me to his site was me selling my products not me selling his products. after twenty minutes I gave up and clicked off the site. This person thought that he was teaching the Power of Attraction? Another Guru and Mentor bites the dust.
Please, Gurus and Mentors, don't all play follow the follower, try and be a bit original? don't tell me that this is 'a one time offer' and that you know my IP address.... or that this offer closes in two days...or that you only have three left (especially e-books?) and on.... and on....and on...
These GREAT FREE offers are just becoming one big blur. Now I just scroll straight to the end of the FREE offer sites to see how much it is gonna cost (I don't even bother to read the text anymore)... surely part of this whole process should be about trying to be a bit original? Stop playing 'you reccomend me and i'll reccomend you' There used to be a time when we recommended things because we thought that they were good, not just because we got a kickback every time, regards Nemo.

From what you say this person has completely missed the concept of attraction marketing and needs to back to Attraction Marketing 101. Attraction Marketing is about building relationships either with leads, prospects or communities and becoming a leader. People have got to want to follow you - Napoleon Hill got it right and it still hasn't changed in all those years.

Guys I couldn't agree with you more. Yes, I agree there is value in using attraction marketing as a means of building relationships. In that process you generally offer people something of real value. However, lately all you have to do is go Tweeter your eyes on MySpace, run a couple of programs to build your follower list to 11,683 people in 30 days and you are now qualified as a guru or mentor. Give me a break! Many people to jump on board this attraction marketing craze don't have a clue. They are our False Prophets who are building nothing more than an unsustainable house of cards.

Perhaps these folks need to take a look at people like Mark Yarnell, who built a downline of over 200,000 in NuSkin without once posting his mug shot on Facebook (yes... I know, it didn't even exist) or selling an e-book or Randy Gage, the master of attraction marketing, who has sold over $10 million of his products (plus millions more in speaking and consulting fees) and then go look very closely in the mirror before jumping out there proclaiming to be the next great mentor or guru.

I must agree with all previous post. There are so many people getting into the Attraction Marketing now that it is getting whitewashed. I believe there will be a reckoning some day. When it is all said and done the true leaders will prevail. Just decide if you want to be one of them or not.

I too scroll to the bottom to see what the true cost is also. If the two of us are doing it, there are many more out there doing it also. All these funded proposal programs lead to a much higher cost product. Everyone will rebel at some point and the true value givers will be like the cream rising to the top.

One thing for sure is free will always be free. When someone proves that their free is from the heart and comes with true conviction to helping others, then it is only a matter of time.
Do you want to keep family, friends and customers smiling when they think of you?
Do you want to do it simply and very affordably?

Lets stop getting the internet to our heads. Rather do network marketing the same way off line as on line because people judge you the same way. Build relationships. Period, end of story.

Isn't that what networking is Building relationships and helping people should not have a dollar sign with it.

Being fairly new to this game "online" I have to agree wholeheartedly! The real "gurus" seem to be far & few between. Lots of schlock-sellers out there. If you are aware of this fact and mindful of who you involve yourself with then good things will eventually come to you. Be diligent, do your homework and only make a move when it suits you, rather than when the hypester says you have to!

That is an excellent statement Nemo. Too many people are telling others to buy this and buy that because it is a good way to grow a business, but truthfully they are just trying to make up for their losses. It's almost like someone with bad debt telling you to take out a loan to pay off their debt and in the end you are the one who is left the debt.

Best wishes to you,
