Lack of Determination is a big one. Failing is a good thing, as long as you gain knowledge and move forward.

Re: 5 reasons why people fail in MLM
Has anyone noticed that some of the msot successful network marketers
know each other personally?
DK and jimmy davis? aron parkinson and jay kubasak? bonnie and clyde? (
last ones a joke lol).
The most succesful marketers not only surround themselves with succesful
marketers, they HANG OUT and PHYSICALLY associate themselves with
these people.
Your more likely to become like a loser friend who hangs around you more
than you are to become succesful by remote association alone.
There's a reason why leaders tell us the biggest key to their success is going
to marketing events - it's because it expands your context and reality in
a way that could take several months to reach by mear remote connection.
Nothing replaces direct physical influence. You are who you hang around.
To be succesful, no hiding behind the computer aloud. If you have to, do what
above succesful marketers do. catch a flight to the nearest meeting spot
to personally connect with the leaders in the industry.
Technology is great, but to have a succesful entrepreneur talk to you from
across a coffee table gaurantees you success. Seriously.

Re: 5 reasons why people fail in MLM
IMHO there is only 1 reason to fail:
THEY QUIT
If they just hang around long enough in the company of their peers, they will get the development they need. But if they become an "island", they're headed home. This has also been mathematically explained by Nathaniel

Re: 5 reasons why people fail in MLM
What's your definition of FAIL?
In my first dozen plus years in MLM or Network Marketing, I experienced what most people would call "total failure" and had every excuse I needed to give up the dream. As bad as I wanted to quit, that wasn't part of my script and one fateful day a shift happened inside me and my experience of the MLM industry dramatically shifted as well. Within three months I was a top earner in the industry and it seemed almost effortless.
I really struggle with word FAIL as it just seems so judgmental and egotistical to me and I just used it in an article I wrote. Go figure!
Thanks for giving me something to re-think about my 36 years in MLM.
A friend always, Steve

Re: 5 reasons why people fail in MLM
Personally...
..To me it's still a Peoples' business and I still teated as such..meaning, you don't
need any skills but the thought of needing such skill it what makes people quit..
not fail..quiting is not failing..
How many people have such skills to or maybe succeed in network marketing?..
Not many huh?..there is the answer only a few and only a few succeed..
I succeeded with non-skill people because there are more..designing something
for non-skill people is the answer...We talk about finding a need and fill it..
finding a solution etc..
I am in Personal Development and have been for decades and that's what makes
people succeed because it opens people's mind and they can see with their own
eyes what needs to be done..
If we walk around the house with our eyes closed we can get around well enough
because we know where everything is and occassionally we bump into the sofa,
chair, etc..and we can continue..
Likewise..
It's the same in our daily lives..so we need to open our mind..eyes then we can see
better and therefore succeed better in what we want to do..
A carpenter with a set of blueprints can build a house over and over again..same thing
with an income opportunity..the blueprints are our own images as vivid as can be
that we can do over and over again..our brain only responds to images..
Before we open a door to go thru we first have an image of opening the door or we
run into it..same getting a glass of water..

Re: 5 reasons why people fail in MLM
Those are some good reasons posted above.
I'll have to add that many prospects participate in biz opps with false expectations of rapid income
or a fast return on their investment.
Many more are not prepared financially to invest in a business of their own.
Most prospects find making the transition from being an employee to being their own boss a difficult one,
unless faced with a situation that forces them to become self-sufficient or if they have a big enough reason
to own their own business and control their own time and income.

Re: 5 reasons why people fail in MLM
I think you have some great ideas and there
are some great answers that have been
given. I believe that the biggest reason
why people fail in MLM is because they are
not willing to commit the time to become
successful. If you want to go full time and
you have never been in this industry before
then you need to become a student of the
industry and expect to set aside 3-5 years!
Not the answer that most people want to read
but that is the harsh reality.
How long does the average university degree or
college diploma take to complete? Think about that
and then the 3-5 years will make sense.
