Hello IBOs! I've been in Quixtar for about 4 years. I wasn't very happy with my initial results, and I started looking around for other opportunities. I found one that I'm very happy with, and is quite profitable...
However, I still want to grow my Quixtar business. I have enough loyalty and respect for my upline, and want to at least reward them with a Platinum organization. I wanted to implement more "web 2.0" strategies like I have in my new company, but Quixtar pretty much forbids this. Let me tell you what I mean:
Legal Bulletin #17 - IBO Websites... there needs to be approval from the corporation. You're limited on what can be on the website, or if you want stuff about lifestyle and anything that involves a "call to action" (ie- fill out this form to get more info) you need to have it password protected.
Legal Bulletin #26 - Search Engine Ads - you can't actually do search engine advertising outside of YOUR NAME or YOUR NAME, Inc. (or whatever company name you have made for yourself).
So, has anyone gotten ANYTHING approved through the corporation for use? And is it working? I just want to get some feedback before I start taking time from my current business. Thanks.

Hey there Adam. I am currently an IBO with a wonderful upline. I do realize that some things can challenge one in any business.
What business are you involved in now, and have you implemented any new online strategies just yet to grow your business.

Re:Splash/Capture Pages, and online marketing
I'm still registered w/ Quixtar... My upline is awesome and I'm actually going to a seminar this weekend in Queens, NY. I love the products, and still very much would at least like to give back to my upline with (minimum) a Platinumship...
After months of wondering what I was going to do, and researching different opportunities I've started with the Reverse Funnel System because of the marketing system and support that's already in place. I mean if someone completes the online application/survey and gets taken to the 'signup page' and DON'T initially sign up .. the system knows it. And if that person comes back to that page to review it... the system knows it.
What do I mean? Well, the first time I saw the sales/signup page I just didn't want to invest my time into something at that moment. I received an automated call from Ty Coughlin (his system) inviting me to an informational call that evening. I went, got some questions answered, but was still reluctant to sign up.
I did some cold-hard research for another month, liked what I saw, and went back to re-examine the sales/signup page...
No joke, within a few minutes of reading the page I got another automated message from Ty inviting me BACK TO ANOTHER INFO CALL!!!
Because I logged into the sales page again, the SYSTEM KNEW IT...
I was so impressed by just how automated the system was, I was sold right there.
Then I started learning other marketing/business building techniques (alot of which are taught here at Magnetic Sponsoring) that are just so cutting-edge... I just couldn't go back to 'showing the plan' every night...
Quixtar just doesn't have that. I'd very much like get w/ the corporation to see what other mlm companies are doing(or at least send them an email to check out MagneticSponsoring.com - hehe)...
So, have I implemented any of the new strategies for Quixtar? No.
Why? I don't want to get 'the boot' from Quixtar for violating their sponsoring rules... But do I still want to build my Quixtar business? Absolutely...
Sorry for the long post, but does that answer your question?
Thanks.

Hi Adam,
I liked your post and appreciated your thoroughness in researching like any responsible IBO should! I've also been building the business for about 4 years, most recently achieving the Platium level with my awesome team. I totally feel that we can all do better with the ideas covered in MS, having grown up with the Internet. As far as getting websites approved, I've personally submitted two requests without any response from the corporation. What I had before merely mentioned my LOS and the fact that I am a Quixtar IBO and such. I do not see the need to have squeeze pages approved as long as we keep it generic, and like Mike Dillard covered in MS, not to mention the opportunity (in this case, Quixtar).
To further explain, the capture page can contain generic information about income diversification and asks the prospects to sign up. It's merely for capturing leads and we can do whatever we want with the prospects. Just as long as we do not operate a competing business (MLM/Network Marketing) we should be fine. The lead capture page is to develop relationship with prospects, not to pitch the business opportunity (Quixtar). Obviously the Reverse Funnel System (Global Resorts) is one that does everything from start to finish, but to operate within limits of the Quixtar IBO compendium, I think we can still use web 2.0 techniques to bring our Quixtar/Amway businesses to the next level. I have shared MS with my Diamond and he was intrigued to say the least. We're going to put together a campaign and beta test it. I'm VERY excited about it and his open-mindedness to new ideas (I know some Diamonds that aren't).
There was a post by Mike Dillard about this exact point somewhere on this site. If you look for his posts in the forum you should be able to see his perspective. Hope this helps.

Re:Splash/Capture Pages, and online marketing
Thanks for your input "Mr. Stranger"...
I'm glad to see you've shown MS to your upline and that you're working on capture pages...
I do agree totally with Mike Dillard's statement -- that we should have a generic capture page to build relationships w/ our prospects/customers/etc... and that as long as we don't 'pitch the company' we should be fine...
When I had brought the splash page idea to "The Q", their response was pretty much "no splash/capture pages allowed"...
Here's my email I sent to them last October:
I've read through the info in the legal bulletins on the quixtar website. It mentions being able to use internet search engine ads and what the restrictions are for the IBO website. Nothing is mentioned about the use of 'squeeze pages'. This is a homepage where some general info is given about the business opportunity, and if the person viewing the website wants more information they would simply fill out an email-capture form which would send an email to the IBO so they could personally contact the prospect. Is this what the bulletin means by "call to action".
The 'squeeze page' is becoming more and more popular, and is in use by many of our competitors. What is Quixtar's take on the use of squeeze pages? I'd rather know one way or the other before taking the time to create one.
Thank you,
Adam
And here is their response:
Dear Adam,
Thank for your email inquiry. The Internet Search Engine guidelines (Bulletin 26) do not permit you use squeeze pages. As outlined in bulletin 26, you may advertise with search engines such as google and yahoo to advertise your personal name and/or the name of your Quixtar business (in applicable ). For example Adam Holland or Holland Enterprises.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.
Sincerely,
Tanya Thomas
In one of Mike's newest emails his message to those "in a company that doesn't let you advertise" (without naming any such companies) he simply stated to "find another company"...
Well, there's no way I'm totally throwing away Q... But I am focusing on my (now) primary business more because of these constraints...
Anybody want to start a "Quixtar Web 2.0 Petition?"
"FREE THE SPLASH PAGE NOW!!..... FREE THE SPLASH PAGE NOW!!"

Re:Splash/Capture Pages, and online marketing
hi guys,
Well I am glad I came here tonight because I was thinking about these issues after reading Quixtar's rules.
When you think about it I guess the Q. policy about web sites and capture pages is a good one given what Mikes says about building YOUR business. After all, we are in business for ourselves. Quixtar is pretty solid but we, the IBOs, are the ones who need to learn all about marketing. Our companies don't need us spending our money on their advertising and neither do we.
I don't recall learning anything at all about marketing in our benevolent government-provided public education system. They were teaching us how to be good employees and soldiers ... right??!! ... but I'm not bitter ... he he.
So let's remember we are in MeMart for our own personal success.
Now I am going to go read up some more on how to advertise for free cos I made the "mistake" of quitting my job two months ago without another source of income.

Re:Splash/Capture Pages, and online marketing
Hey, Kerry. I don't think the Q was talking about just paid advertising, but free advertising as well... My best guess is that they want to stick with (and I quote from the legal bulletins) the direct "person-to-person" nature of the business... no capture pages.
I've done some FREE marketing (Craigslist, ezine, forum, etc...) but all of those forms of marketing lead back to a capture page.. if they didn't, it would be a waste of time.. that would be like going to the mall and meeting a really sharp, excited couple and not asking them for the phone number... NO way to contact them later...
The capture page is ESSENTIAL and REQUIRED in the new age of marketing (mlm or not).
I'm still going to experiment with product based promotion (indirectly...)
The only problem is if I direct a bunch of traffic to my qhealthzone (and the other 2 personalized websites) that will more than likely tell the Q that I'm doing advertising.. hehe.. it's a thin rope to walk, should either of us go that route...
But DO NOT DISPAIR! You can still go Platinum! And now w/ the Amway name coming back, the company is going to focus more on RETAILING again...
It's going to take some time, but I think the average PV per IBO should about double from customers (with potential for alot more...)

Hi Adam,
I'm curious to find out if you are only directing traffic to your Q powered personal sites without any type of pre-sale page? How did it work out for you? And yes there are many ways to go Platinum, and now with heavier focus on retail we'll see more people stepping up to the plate and making more money. It's CRUCIAL to have the retailing aspect of our business emphasized time and again, as most new IBO will rely on retail profit in the early days of their business. I recall myself making about $500 at 600PV without a team. I was very happy :)

I'm going to be using a pre-sale page, but that whole project is on the back burner right now..
I'll let you know what I come up with in the near future...
And Kudos for the 600PV w/ no group! Another 12 people doing that, and you're over 7500!!
I always disliked the "75 people to make 2-3K per month" plan... with those who retail, it could be much easier..
Keep up the great work and I hope to hear about some new pin-winners soon!!
