Shiraz,
I'm sorry buddy, but i'm dying laughing right now.
I'm not laughing at you, but with you. I've been wondering where all these e-mails have been coming from. I recently ran a huge campaign where we purchased $3.00 leads for like 10 cents a piece, and we co-opted a few hundred thousand leads.
I thought those people were reverse prospecting me, but I just realized they came from magnetic sponsoring.
No, people don't get it. They think that's the key is to spam people without building relationships. Shame on them.
Here's my solution.
Push the delete button and move on.
I know it sucks buddy, but what can you do. Call them all and yell at them?
Me and you have better things to do, like sponsor new prospects instead of wasting all that energy.
Just like Jim Rohn said, what are we gonna do, chase all the people telling our prospects not to sign up in this scam. Nahhhhh. Just keep prospecting.
Good luck man, best medicine is to laugh.
Talk to you soon buddy.
Happy Prospecting,
William Whitlow

Re:People STILL Don't Get It...!
Hey Debs, it's the intention in which it's done, and can be best explained through the concept of "Push marketing" VS "Pull Marketing"
Push marketing is when someone pushes their products/services onto you in an unsolicited manner. "Look at this... Let me show you this... Check this out..." It's uninvited.
Pull marketing takes place when you illicit the interest of someone who actively pursues more information about your product or service. Shiraz is a great example of this. He provides quality information in this community without the expectation of anything in return.
He leaves his website address at the bottom of his posts for people who want to learn more about him and his newsletter. He doesn't go around spamming people, telling them to read his newsletter and pushing his website upon them. He offers value and pulls people toward him.
Push marketing doesn't work any more. it's turns people off. It smells of greed, self-interest, and desperation, and the American public punishes that behavior now.
Let's say you have an arthritis product that you market. Using pull marketing, you might write some articles on the best ways to relieve arthritis, giving people VALUE up front, and establishing yourself as a knowledgeable expert when it comes to relieving arthritis pain. At the end of that article, you could recommend your product as the best you've found, and that they should contact you to get more information, request a free sample, or to try the product risk free for 30 days.
Going onto an arthritis forum and posting ads for your product will do nothing but get you banned from that community.
The Push marketer says, "buy my product, I want to help you!"
The Pull marketer says, "There's no need to buy anything, I'll do my best to help you no matter what."
... And guess who ends up getting more PAYING customers in the end?????? The PULL marketer, because he demonstrated value, and took the time to build a relationship with the prospect without asking for money to do so.
Hope this helps!
Mike
P.S. And if someone does send you an uninvited email through this site, please report it to us so we can ban them!

Shiraz,
You know the first time I did a post I didn't get it. Thank god that I wasn't an idiot and had at least got the concept of the boot camp. The thing is that if you pay attention to what people are posting and are willing to learn and then lead by what you have absorbed, there would not be a problem.
It is sad that people that are trying to make it in business won't do what the leaders do.
I am thankful for all of the information on this site and for all of the people out there just tuning in..my advice is to read the posts, get the MS system, read and reread it, learn from everyone here and don't get greedy. Make some friends because we will be the ones leading and working together.
Have a great evening.

Re:People STILL Don't Get It...!
most people aren't leaders they like the IDEA of being a leader, they talk the talk but they dont walk the walk.
A leader is constantly learning and applying everything they can, BEFORE they try to teach it. But most people have an ego issue and hate to be told that what they're doing is wrong. You repeat the same lesson over and over, but they keep doing the same thing they were doing before. They nod their head and say "Oh yes, i get it" but they STILL want to do it their own way.
I see examples of it here all the time. And it used to frustrate me, but i comfort myself with this thought: "More money for me."
I can't make mistakes for anybody else. They have to make their own and learn. We'll keep teaching.
The leaders will be humble and follow before they try and innovate. Everyone else will nod their head and keep losing money, customers, and prospects to the people who are brave enough to lead.

Re:People STILL Don't Get It...!
oh and shiraz,
i get those people and they frustrate me too. i usually respond to the part of their email that ISNT about their opportunity and the rest i ignore. They cant hurt me with an email or force me to view something i don't want.
When they subscribe me to their lists by force, i report their email as spam. But sometimes i forget whose list i'm subscribed to and whose i'm not. So i search for an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email. If i don't find one, i report their email.
You should too. I hope that their mail domains will get suspended if enough of us do it. But give the benefit of the doubt first by checking if there is a way to unsubscribe.

Mike,
It's been a huge privilege to help keep this community Spam and drama-free. I know I haven't been perfect, but I do my best. I can't thank you enough on how much you've helped me this past year, along with all the other admins. 2007 was my year of transformation, and 2008 has already started out with a big bang ;-)
Jim, that is so absurd. You actually get people that force you into their lists? I don't think that has happened to me yet, but thanks for the heads up.
I agree with your thoughts on people "nodding their heads" but not implementing what they learn. However, I do feel that teaching someone is one of the best ways to learn. I'll admit, I've written articles about something I've studied or seen but haven't used. Eventually, I do use it, but only because I gained a stronger understanding of it by teaching it to others.

Re:People STILL Don't Get It...!
I love Mike's answers and guys he is right about PULL and PUSH Marketers.
To simplify things on spam:
If you did not request or did not give them permission to tell you about their opportunity, it's spam and just flush them down the toilet.
Usually people who send you those "uninvited opportunity deals" do not have the right tools, the right company or whatever.
And I have done great deal on research about companies that promised all that and at the end they end up what I call "MLM Graveyard" or "MLM Mental Hospital" - leaving its leaders and entire organizations with empty dreams and big deal of disappointment and mistrust for the industry.
BUT IF YOU HAVE REQUESTED the info about their opportunity, it's not spam and you should read the e-mail and connect with them. B)
In that case you know them already, you have trust in them etc... And that is even the best part of this forum: you might find soemone you would love to do business with, so why not?
JUST DON'T SPAM!!!!
For those people who love to spam I recommend to read an excellent bool on Permission Marketing By Seth Godin.
Let's just close this discussion and start a new more helpful topics, so many fellow network marketers can learn as much as possible.
B)
See you on the top,
Brett
P.S. - I even stop using my sig files in here in order to prevent spam as much as possible. That way I do not expect people to send me their opportunity stuff into my mailbox.

Re:People STILL Don't Get It...!
Thanks, Mike, and others,
I think I understand.
I've been wondering whether to offer a free report on my squeeze page that's related to but not selling my product, or whether to simply have a direct offer for the free CD that explains the product.
I'm thinking, by the push-pull concept, that the free report is usually the way to go. Am I starting to get it?

Debs, no one opts in to the "sales pitch". The company CD is a sales pitch. You need a report that helps people solve a problem WITHOUT a sales pitch. it educates them and gets under their radar. Once they understand how the problem can be solved, they will want to buy on their own.
