Hey Eddie,
Over the many years that I have been a networker I have used the following to grab attention:
1. Tee shirts
2. Caps
3. Lapel Buttons
4. Jackets
5. Bags
6. Back packs
7. Wheel covers {4wheel drives}
Now that's just to name a few.........
The best message is one that gets the prospects attention and preferably has them asking you a question.
The reason I love these items is because in most countries that makes these items a TAX DEDUCTION!!! :) ;)
Now I prefer also to give these items as gifts to family and friends, in fact anyone that will wear them and help promote you. B)
Now I am not saying you are going to get killed in the rush to join you and your business because you wont be. It is just another of the many tools that we networkers can use to create attention and build our profile so that we stand out from the herd.
Those and many other great marketing tips are contained in our course;

Re:What are your opinions on this??
Hi Reggie,
Yeah, the idea is definitely sound. I've seen people wear pins, jewelery, jackets, etc. Actually makes me think of all the free t-shirts I wear that were given at tradeshows or as company promos. I'm actually advertising other companies without thinking about it!
Personally I think a short catchy URL is going to do better for most people. I know I've seen URL's on license plates and looked them up later... but remembering a phone number off a radio commercial seems hard.
Make sure your URL is going to a squeeze/capture page, as that way you'll sort the curious from the serious. You'll also be able to build your prospect list too.
I think it's important to use your own website/logo/picture, and not company logo or generic pictures. I've seen too many people with company buttons or clothing... but if you're just advertising the company name without any connections back to yourself you might lose a lot of potential business.
If you need too... you can build a catchy logo really quickly at this site:

Fun stuff! I'm thinking of making a T-Shirt now too.

Cafepress.com is a good site for making most of these items cheaply and available for purchase by yourself and your team.

Re:What are your opinions on this??
Hey Eddie... you're head is in the right place when it comes to "searching" for new ideas... because that's what any true entrepreneur does.
On the t-shirt idea, you can definitely target "like-minded" individuals by putting certain things on your t-shirt... and you DO have a good idea.
Although, I would try the ones you already have, my take would be this...
Like those crazy car window stickers with phone numbers and all, people really just see a broke soccer mom (or dad) who cant afford to advertise and is "obviously" not making much money with their home business.
People clearly see those people as "the hopeful, dedicated bunch, that are not truly successful."
So let me ask anyone... when is the last time you were headed to the grocery store, and you came across a jeep cherokee with "work at home" stickers, and you said to yourself- "there is my million dollar idea!" I'm going to call this stranger and join them!
Never you say? Well, the t-shirt can create the same perception... but that doesn't mean you can get it to work. It just takes a different approach... a "magnetic" approach!
First, (like the lady above said, take the phone number off- you are standing right there!) :)
Second, You don't want to come across as a "needy, or cheezy" person who looks like he's attempting to pitch his opp for free.
What I would do, personally, is create a t-shirt that creates intrigue and shows passion for what you do... without saying it. You want to create "curiousity" for the person behind you in line at starbucks.
Like minded individuals WILL spark up a conversation! If they are afraid to, then they aren't who you're looking for anyway!
Here are some EXAMPLES that you can look at that have this sort of effect....
-Go to Alexa.com and look at the "my site rocks t-shirt". It creates curiousity.
-Go to cafe press, and look up Joe Vitale's t-shirt line... you'll see t-shirts that say "got marketing?" or one's that say "crazy-copywriter". Those show passion for what you do, while creating curiousity, but not exploiting what you do.
In essence, people WILL ask you!
"Hey John, what that shirt all about? what do you do?"
You can say, "I help people set up automated streams of income via the internet, like I have myself".
"Really? Do you have a business card? a phone number?"
BINGO! That's "magnetic!"
So you can definitely create your own shirt, and it CAN work. But how can you create intrigue, show your passion, and muster up some curiousity all at the same time?
Hope this helps!
P.S.- You rock Eddie! Keep at it man, best of luck to you! :silly:

Re:What are your opinions on this??
I personally get tired of advertising. We all look at the weird people in our companies who just barf all over their prospect. They let the company be their life instead of being apart of their lives. We all should take our business seriously, but all of that planning and fanaticism should be internal, not external.
One multimillionaires in this industry whom has trained thousands of people to success told me that we should be James Bond on the outside and the Terminator on the inside. Blatant advertising can be seen as a turnoff by being too much of a Terminator on the outside.
Still, with that said, I actually did like my last company's t-shirt that had the logo and in smaller print below it "Have you heard about it?" I liked it and wore it mostly when I work out (I don't wear tshirts in the open otherwise). I may ask about what something like that means just for curiousity.
I am by no means any expert at advertising so I can only speak for what I think would work for me personally. I may ask about it but it would really have to depend on the statement you make on the tshirt. Hopefully it works out for you.

Haha...
Yeah, wear a T-Shirt where it's appropriate and remember the likely target:
T-Shirt = working out / exercise
- "Exercise Your Financial Muscle" + URL
Baseball Hat = playing golf, at a ball game, etc.
- "Not what's on the head but what's in the head" URL
Bumper Sticker on Car = parking lot, stuck in traffic...
- "I'd rather be home making money" URL
Jacket = colder weather, outside
- "My home office is warmer" URL ??
I don't know... something like that. You get the idea. My biggest problem is not coming up with ideas, it's finding the time to take action on them. Cheers!

Re:What are your opinions on this??
I will say, the shirt catches your eye. I was holding off on saying anything
because of all the positive responses you were getting. It just reminded me of all the silly recruiting ideas that I tried back in the 90's when I was a Sales Manager for Alpine Industries. NONE of that stuff worked. I wasted a fortune on things of that nature following everyone's latest, greatest recruiting "sure-thing".
Then I saw a response from someone who felt like I did. "Would Mike Dillard wear a shirt like that?" OK, I knew I couldn't be the only one who got a knot in my stomach looking at that shirt!
The answer is most definitely he would NOT.
No one is going to look at your shirt and say "Hey, tell me about that!" Not in the real world anyway. I tried all that stuff. It's like posting flyers all over God's Creation and expecting the phone to ring. It won't.
I would focus your energies on breaking out of the box and getting away from all the hokey ideas your upline will try and sell you on.
Work on becoming an expert and promoting yourself and leave the shirts to the novelty
shirt vendors. I will commend you 100% for trying to develop something, anything- instead of just sitting there. You'll hit the bulls-eye someday soon, I'm sure of it!

Re:What are your opinions on this??
Not so sure I would wear a shirt advertising my opportunity. It brings back bad memories of the old sign on the telephone polls about making $5000/week. I'm not saying it's too cheesy, but I think you should go in a different direction. Sorry
