Well Said Adam, people have no idea what is entailed in working a business. You might as well tell them to go run down the street screaming "Give me the Money".

Constantly reminding them that "They requested the information". I think sounding like a broken record is ok, because everyone you encounter will always start out skeptical, and they have no idea why you are calling. That's just a fact, and will always be.

I have a stack of leads, yes a pile of rejection. I've been told NO atleast 800 times( actually more) and I love it. Hard leads build posture, and you learn how to diffuse the negativity.
It doesn't matter if someone says NO to you right now. I always Ask if I can keep in touch

The only bad leads I have are the ones where the phone number doesn't work. Now I have to get back to work or I'll Fire myself Again

Everyone is not a good prospect. So that I won't waste my time nor theirs, I'm asking questions. And, I'm making sure that I stay in control. I will ask about their work history, family, what type of income they're looking to generate and are they looking for p/t or f/t. Always take notes. And, I will say, before I go any further (prospect) do you keep an open mind? Are you looking for a job or will you be interested in working for yourself? If they say job, game over...I just politely tell them that they're not what I'm looking for and I wish you luck. Thanks for calling, bye. Sometimes, I may get calls of people who just want to be silly, so I will ask a question "Are you calling because you serious, or curiuos?" Some will say "Oh, I'm just curious, what's this all about?" I will say, "Well, (prospect) at this time, I am not looking for curious people. But, when you are serious, please give me a call back, thank you!"

I guess I am a little confused. I haven't been in this real long, but I thought with relationship building, a solid funded proposal and other avenues we are learning here that this would strengthen the leads. Are they really leads if you have to go through all that work? Aren't there people out there looking for us? Aren't we a "viable" option for people seeking us? Isn't it our job to promote our information through our You inc. businesses and "pre-qualify" the leads?

What am I missing? :?

Thanks!
Audrey

You better first build a strong relationship. Get to know the person he needs to get to know about you. You must like the person he must like you. You need to trust each other. Be sure to keep your word make sure he keeps his. Have as much common with each other as you can, the more common you have with the person the more likely the prospect will ask you to sponsor him in your business. No other way around.

Thanks Noela. The information is very true. This industry doesn't have room for convincing. If a prospect tells me that it is a pyramid scheme, I simply tell them that I have nothing to offer them. That's it. Once you Iearn new marketing tactics, and start generating 20+ leads a day, convincing really becomes a joke.

It all really comes back to just knowing how to generate leads.

For the people generating 20 or 30 leads a day it is easy for them to let a prospect go, but in all honestly not many people are quite to that level.

If they have no other leads to rely on it would be rough to just let someone go because they were asking too many questions.

So my advice to everyone is learn how to get at least 10 to 15 leads each and everyday and you will no longer have these problems anymore.

You won't care if your friends and family join your business because you already have enough people to deal with.

It does not matter how you start generating the leads. I think that the easiest way is through blogging or content marketing because I mean everyone has a voice, and we all can turn that voice into words on a computer screen.

i think this is an important topic. i recently told a family member what was i doing and after a small explanation was asked 'oh its a pyramid system?!'
i went on to explain what the difference was, but perhaps not well enough and i realise this is an area i need to brush up on.

it has been made difficult with little in the way of good information is an easy to digest format on the net. e.g when i was initially reseraching into home businesses to see what i might like to do i came across the term pyramid system quite a bit. i was not ready to accept that MLM and Direct Sales were pyramid schemes and so looked into it further, but i can see how easily it would throw many interested parties off.

my sponsor actually mentioned that you should not tell family and friends until you are successful (an dthey ask whats going on) as their lack of understanding, and disbelief that any this could work, can poison your determination to proceed

Very well said Noela.
Once in a while either a newbie to the NM World or someone who has been 'creamed' by illegal companies such as: cash gifting, ponzi schemes etc will come along and talk poorly of NM. It's because they weren't taught the right Skills to help them to succeed.

These people are walking around in circles trying to figure out HOW to make their business work.
I've been in several companies where there is no support around to help you get along in your business.
That's a shame because it makes people think you're on your own.
