Google AdWords...

Postby johns white on Sat Jul 25, 2009 7:05 am

The past few years have witnessed the morphing of search engine optimization (SEO) into search engine marketing (SEM). And, as you are undoubtedly aware, SEM is a multi-faceted endeavor that demands careful integration of online marketing strategies. Today's astute SE marketer knows that page optimization, inbound linking strategies, and paid placements all dovetail together to form the winning combinations that drive traffic to sites that generate profits.

Of course, one of the cornerstones of SEM is Google's AdWords Program. However, unlike traditional pay-per-click advertising where the top placement is awarded to the top bidder, AdWords uses a formula that allows the underdog to triumph over advertising behemoths who might otherwise just buy the top ranking. On AdWords, one can rise to the top of the listings with a lesser bid by simply offering a more compelling ad that motivates visitors to "click" more often.

Perhaps you already know all that - but, what you may not already know are the various ways to beat the competition by making some lesser known, but very smart, choices within your AdWords setup and your keyword selections.

I don't know, maybe because I'm a newby, but I don't use adwords.
Whenever I've used them, I seem to lose money rather than gain any.
Can anyone suggest some good places, strategies?
Thanks

Absolutely -
I'd recommend Jim Yaghi's Pay Per Click Domination, the only course of its kind for MLM

Yep, Jims course is good, as is Perry Marshall's. Perry's training is really regarded as the standard for all basic entry level training into PPC.

However, unless you are in a high tier business (such as GRN, WMI), I really strongly suggest you understand the metrics behind your business before you jump into PPC.

High tier businesses offer a ton of wiggle room for you to play with when getting into PPC marketing, even if you are using a funded proposal in your marketing.

How much do you earn per lead right now in your business? That is a great starting point. Now, use that # as a way to base how much you can pay per lead in PPC and still break even or into profit.

So, if your using a funded proposal concept to build your business, how much are you earning in your funded proposal per lead?

Thats the math you should understand in order to make good use of PPC traffic.

My personal recommendation is to stick to free marketing strategies at first, especially if your on a very limited budget, and funnel your profits from those free strategies into paid advertising, PPC being one of the first paid strategies you should get into.

This will help you get a "snowball" of advertising funds going for your business.

Good luck

I've been doing a PPC Co-Op for my downline and it has been working awesome!
I actually have read perry's book and jim's course, but found a couple other products that
introduced me to how google does there quality score formula. Cut all my bids by
almost half within 2 months! I love PPC...

There is lot of useful information on internet about SEO and adwords. But read only few of them and start working. Don't waste your time by reading them all. There is no supers easy money making secrets. Only some basic things and lot of work.

Yeah the Basic's will always work...

But there has been alot of updates and if you don't keep up then your gonna loose your shirt...

Here are some quick things to keep bids down, remember you have to learn how Google's system works and don't work against it just follow the steps...

Here is the post on these crucial steps: http://tiny.cc/gzBl0

I hope it helps because hardly anybody talks about this but Google mentions it all the time in their
guides...don't listen to most of the Guru's out there, most of them are just blowing smoke...

Dwayne, Just read your post on getting .01 cent bids on PPC.

Like the other posters here, I've shied away from adwords simply because I tried it, lost a lot of money doing it, and still feel that sting. After reading your simple post, however, I feel motivated to do the ppc thing again. Only this time, I'll follow your advice and play by Google's rules.

It's funny how I've read ebooks by so many PPC "gurus", and never learned much practical information about how to properly work with adwords. Your 5 paragraphs contain information that most of these gurus would charge $97, after they fed you fluff until you're ready to barf.

Thanks for the info.

Saw you posted on http://EssentialNetworker.com a question on this, I'll send you a reply on there soon...
